Saw Dunkirk tonight. It was really intense and I had a difficult time sitting though it. It didn't let up and I didn't like the ending, but thought it was was worth seeing.
BUT.... I got to see the previews again for The Big Sick and got giddy all over again. I adore that movie. It is sweet and charming and funny and touching.

I saw Ingrid Goes West and Wind River this weekend. Both excellent films.

Wind River is playing at my local theatre. Think I will try and see it tonight (free popcorn 🍿 night). Ingrid Goes West looks like a sharp little satire. Hope I can catch it.
Edit: Jon Bernthal reminded me so much of Shane in that movie. The actress who plays the FBI agent must have some acting chops. I saw the trailer for Ingrid.
Liked all the connections I am reading between her character and Clarice Starling. I really liked bringing in all the Native American cultural gaps between ours and theirs. It definitely makes cultural understandings difficult if you don't have the knowledge of that worldview.

It is a small but important part. He is memorable.

Saw Hungry Hearts. This movie was one of the most depressing movies I have seen in awhile.

I saw mother! today. Damn, that's certainly an experience. I liked it overall, but I thought the last 20-30 minutes of that film was a hot mess. I don't even know where to begin with it.
Still, I can't stop thinking about it and it made me feel something, so that's a good thing.

Has anyone seen Fences, with Denzel and Viola Davis? Is it worth a watch?

I started it but couldn't watch it. Maybe because it was a play, but the Denzel character talked way to much for me. But some people loved it, I guess.
