A general discussion thread to talk about the newest movies you've seen, or whatever you're about to pop in your DVD player.
I'm rewatching Brooklyn again, one of my favorites from last year. Saoirse Ronan is a dream.

I think I read the entire thing in about 4 hours. lol

I just rewatched World War Z this week. I have not read the book, but several people have told me I will like it even though it's VERY different. And last night, my youngest - 9 years old - decided we needed to watch San Andreas. He loves action movies. Red was previously his favorite movie, and now he loves this one. The only part he didn't like was the kissing.

I watched "Room" last weekend. Really intense and well done. Its stayed with me over the past few days, popping into my head at random moments, which I always like, even if the story was dark. Definitely not forgettable and some amazing acting.
Oh yeah, and I'm rewatching the simpsons movie right now while I clean. multi tasking!

I loved Room.....it haunted me for quite awhile. I miss a lot of movies because of where I live..but they do manage to bring in the Emmy contenders each year. I am excited to see Spielberg and Disney are bringing out The BFG...I read it every year to my students....

I finally got to see The Revenant and I absolutely loved it. Ended up watching it 2 more times. Leo definitely deserved that Oscar imo. Tom Hardy was amazing as was the entire cast. Very heart breaking though. I even sympathized with the bear a little bit lol

Jungle Book - Holy Batman! Amazing adaptation.
CGI - breathtaking and utterly believable.
Voices - inspired. Idris Elba, Ben Kingsley, Scarlett Johanssen, Lupita Nyong'o, Bill Murray, Christopher Walken
Mowgli - Neel Sethi - what a break for this child actor.
Music - Christopher Walken as King Louie - the adaptation of "I Wanna be Like You" ear worm - I'm warning you.

I have watched mad max fury road twice in the past week. I saw it in the theater, loved it and it has stuck with me since last summer. I was thinking that watching it at my house on a 42 in screen would not have the same impact.
I was completely wrong - it was just as engaging, visually stunning and layered as I remembered. each time I've seen it I've noticed something new. Awesome.

Saw the Cabin Fever remake. And it was awful. It literally the same movie scene for scene, only they added more gore and sex with a gender swap of the cop.

Midnight Special - absolutely amazing film. Jeff Nichols wins again. That's the movie with Micheal Shannon right.. I liked the performance from Micheal Shannon and Kristen Durst, but wasn't a huge fan of the ending.

Just watched in the Valley of Elah with Tommy Lee Jones and Susan Sarandon on Netflix. About a father trying to find his son missing in the military. Not sure if I liked it that much but any time I can watch Tommy Lee Jones, I am in. Sarandon was excellent, also, though her part was small.
@dark sister, I watched Tallulah last week and loved it.

I liked the ending, it gave me a lot to think about. That was the problem for me...it left more questions than answers. Just realised that Micheal Shannon and Jeff Nichols worked together in the movie Take shelter too.
