Finally watched Independence Day: Resurgence and what a disappointment. I wish they hadn't done the sequel now.

In what way(s) did it disappoint you? Every way lol... the story was bad... the acting was bad... unlike the original were you wanted the humans to survive and kill the aliens. In this one you want the humans to die because the main characters are so freaking annoying... There was way to much CGI instead of story content....Just one big disappointment, I can see why Will Smith pass on the movie.

Watched The Bronze. Terrible movie. lol I'm curious because it is on my list to watch- what did you find terrible about the film. I trust you on films so interested in your thoughts here dark sister It isn't very funny and the lead character is irredeemably unlikable. Those types work if they're actually being amusing, but Melissa Rauch isn't. It's all forced and annoying. There's a few laughs here and there, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I watched the first episode of the new series Exorcist on Fox. Surprisingly well done. Geena Davis was good as the mom. Creepy, well directed, written and acted, but it was only the first show so we'll see....

I'm eager to see it, especially with Jeryl Prescott & Colman Domingo in the cast. Jeryl doesn't even speak, I don't recall her doing so anyways. Her part is very small. Comingo is very good, but he's also very underutilized. The direction really lets the film down as a whole. It's very poorly done, even when the script and acting is good.

Ahhh, all very good to know, dark sister. I'll move it to the "wait for cable" list. The rape story made me uneasy

Ahhh, all very good to know, dark sister . I'll move it to the "wait for cable" list. The rape story made me uneasy I had to sleep on it before I formed a complete opinion, and I feel bad getting an opportunity to see an early showing then not liking it, but the direction reminded me of how Nicotero directs. It focused too much and trying to get an "arty" shot instead of just flowing naturally. It's easy for me to separate a director/writer's personal life from his work. Roman Polanski is a sick fuck, but the dude makes amazing movies. He just does. It's a bit strange that he would use two rape victims to kind of jump start Nat's rebellion, especially when I believe they're both fabricated (though rape on slave plantations was definitely common) But that's not even the film's biggest issue to me. It's hands down the directing.

Our most recent movie was The Magnificent 7. I know the reviews trashed it, but I loved it. Who cares about motivation. It was a western! I just wanted to see that town take out Bogue.
And, I loved and laughed my head off at Brigitte Jones's Baby (and when did Colin Firth get so hot?)
And I loved the new Ghostbusters and Francis Jenkins Foster. They both made me laugh.
I guess I am into light-hearted movies right now. Although I have a whole list of "films" I want to see. But I think I probably will end up renting them from Amazon.

Watched The Good Neighbour starring James Caan and Logan Miller. Really liked this movie. It's a good who is the bad guy story. The revealing of the question is really sad.

Finally watched Swiss Army Man the other night. I loved it, to put it mildly. First it is just a charming buddy movie with two talented actors and a great soundtrack. But then you get into the metaphors and symbolism and it is a different movie. I am not sure what I think of the ending, yet. Luckily, I still have it for a month to rewatch.

I recently watched the original movie of Westworld from the 70's. I liked it alot. So I'm planning to watch the series that has just started based on it. The original film was fantastic IMO with Yul Brenner as The Gunslinger and poor Richard Benjamin as the newbie who learns to fight back. I loved the engineer guy too. Brenner scared the bejeesus out of me the first time I saw it as a 6 or 7 year old child. The sequel with Blythe Danner and Peter Fonda I loved much less frankly.
