Watched Nocturnal Animals. Very good, but so unsettling. I really want to see this one, among many right now but it does look pretty disturbing? I've wanted to see this, "Arrival", "Manchester by the Sea" and "Loving" but have not had enough time in the day lately to get everything done, much less time to go to a movie?! Actually, I am taking my boys to see Rogue One tomorrow or Wed., I promised we would go and like I said, I can't even remember what I saw last at the theater! Oh, I also really want to see "Collateral Beauty" too! Has anybody gone to see this yet? I heard it was good but a real tear jerker, but then it doesn't take much to get my waterworks going! I'm such a softie! I was flipping around earlier and saw that "P.S. I Love You" was on and I love that movie but it's like torture for me to watch it because I literally cry through just about the whole thing! (puke)

The reviews for Collateral Beauty and Passengers are not good.
I think I'll wait for those arrive for TV viewing.
I want to see Fences and La La Land and Hidden Figures.
Dunkirk looks very interesting. I've seen the previews a couple times. The brief shot of the soldier under water is Harry Styles (One Direction). I like history in movie form.

I didn't care for Manchester by the Sea, though the acting is good. Collateral Beauty is getting ripped apart by critics now, and after reading an outline, I can see why.

I saw Manchester by the Sea today, and it was such a letdown. I know it's currently a hit with the critics and Oscar lovers but god, that movie was dull. I am disappointed to hear that! It has gotten glowing reviews from the review groups I trust but I trust your opinionstoo.

Since I don't go to the movies I'll have to wait for them to come out on dvd. I am watching free state of Jones again. Mathew M (who is hit and miss as an actor) did a fantastic job in the role. When you see the pics of the the person he is portraying you'll be shocked at how much Mathew looked like him.

We are hoping to get to see Collateral Beauty this week. Arrival came and went before we could get there and I was disappointed. Nocturnal Animals looks a little too intense for me but maybe....
I am on the fence about Passengers, but do want to see Manchester by the Sea, and Why Him?
Can't wait for LaLa Land and I also want to see Patriot's Day.
Tina Fey recommended Idiocracy. We are set to watch it on Netflix.

Just watched Victor Frankenstein with James McAvoy, Daniel Radcliffe, Jessica Findlay-Brown, Charles Dance and Andrew Scott. I will never get that time back sadly. Had high hopes for the film; the writing was awful so I see why it bombed at the box office.

I caught a several minutes of the movie as a fluke... and can't say I was inclined to make any attempt to see more of it thereafter. I'm sorry you ensured the whole thing.

A great cast, but terrible and often pointless plotlines in the writing. I admire James McAvoy's body of work, especially his small independant films. but nope.

Watched the Norwegian disaster movie The Wave. And I really enjoyed it, the effects were good and so was the acting. Alot better than the Hollywood disaster movies.

I agree with everything you said here. Captain Fantastic was a lovely little film and Suicide Squad was such a let down. Especially Leto, he's a great actor but his Joker was awful.

I watched St Vincent with Bill Murray and Melissa McCarthy. I was entertained. Bill Murray was curmudgeonly. Naomi Watts was very good as the pregnant Russian ? hooker.

Watching an old favorite, "Last of the Mohicans" with Daniel Day-Lewis, which was filmed in my area of Western North Carolina. The film expands a love story to a greater degree than in James Fenimore Cooper's novels, but I love seeing local landmarks there.
In fact, the Biltmore Estate was used for several filming locations. I will be there Saturday touring the house before the Christmas decorations come down Sunday night. (I think there are 85 Christams trees in the house this year, with one room having 6 decorated trees, lol)

Watched Squirm a old 70's movie about man eating worms. The acting was awful so was the story. But ugh I hate bloody worms and the director kept doing close ups of them and some some reason the worms were kinda screaming.

I'm watching an old miniseries from the late 80's. Amerika. The US has become a Soviet puppet and the downtrodden Americans are trying to get their country back (lost it in a bloodless coup). Robert Urich, Sam Neill, Kris Kristofferson(who looks old in the show), Cindy Pickett and a bunch of other actors who were popular in tv then. It is both terrible and good in equal parts. Its on youtube. I'm basically watching it to see how they lost their country (seems like an apathetic electorate) and how they get it back. Loving the 80's hairstyles. There is of course the young rebellious teen who rides a motorcycle (and there is snow on the ground) but whose hair is always fluffy.
