Since Jessica Lange left and Lady Gaga came in. I really haven't watched AHS, I usually just watch the first few episodes and then lose interest.

Finished the show 'Between' on Netflix. This show had so many problems. The charchaers were unlikable and if the main plot of your show is that all the characters die the moment they got 22. Then maybe cast actors who look young instead of casting actors who look 30+ to play teens.

Having finished watching Battlestar Galactica start to finish- better than remembered.
I have moved on to rewatching The X-Files, an annual ritual. great to have on while ironing, or puttering around the house.

Tried to watch Shadowhunters and I switched of 4 episodes in. The main character is played by one of the worst actresses I have seen in awhile.

I watched the pilot for The Mist series on Spike. There was a lot going on.
I'm going to give it another go next week. There are 10 episodes.
This snippet from io9's recap sums up my thoughts after watching the pilot:
"There’s a lot going on in just the first episode, and wanting to see the follow through on everything it set up makes us want to come back and see more. We’ve seen a lot of shows in the “small town trapped by outside forces” vein, including Wayward Pines and another King adaptation, Under the Dome; both started strong but couldn’t quite keep it together as their stories progressed. If The Mist can pull all its threads into a coherent story that builds on King’s premise, it could be a scary triumph."
Isaiah Whitlock Jr (The Wire) is one of the stars.
Anyone else catch it?

I have been watching 13 Reasons Why on Netflix. It is heartbreaking and I have cried the past two episodes. I am sure I will cry more before I finish. It is the story of a high school girl who commits suicide and she has made tapes explaining what happened and how people were cruel to her that drove it. Lots of buzz about it and the topic of bullying in the reviews. Surprisingly, there will be a season 2.
I like how Netflix finds new and extremely takented actors. This is an amazing ensemble cast.

It is really intense and gets more so as it progresses. They don't hold back, which had earned the show praise and criticism, depending on outlook. The ending raises some questions that they intend to answer in 2. I imagine they don't go beyond that.

I'm watching the season finale of The Handmaid's Tale tonight. This is a difficult show to watch because of the subject matter, but it is extremely well done. Really compelling.

I just finished this series as well. Hard to watch but I agree, very well done. I read the book and I like how the show is expanding on the story. I'm looking forward to the next season.

The handmaids tale was brutal but also one of the best things I think I've ever seen on tv. Elizabeth Moss is amazing - is also recommend watching her in Top of the Lake, which is a really interesting mystery/thriller and she's incredible in it.
I also just finished all of season 2 of Master of None....super creative, really warm, well written show. I absolutely loved it.

Elizabeth is really good at conveying a variety of emotions without being over the top. That's why when she lost it on Serena after she saw her with Hannah, it was so powerful.

I am ready for Top of the Lake, Season 2- GoT Gwendoline Christie is in season 2, woo-hoo! I've been a huge Elizabeth Moss fan since her Mad men work as Peggy Olson. Getting ready to start Handmaid's Tail, but I have to be in the right mood for the ultra-grim. Looking forward to TOTL

Does anyone watch the CNN documentaries on various decades, like "The Seventies", "The Eighties". They're very U.S. centric but they are very well done. I've watched several and have enjoyed them all.

Watching HBO's Tour de Pharmacy. Not as funny as Seven Days in Hell but still has some ridiculously funny moments.

I'm checking out the premiere of Salvation tonight. It's your basic "meteor hitting the earth and we're all gonna die" show. Right up my alley. Hopefully it's good.

Finished The Lone Gunmen" & back on season 2 of Farscape. I can see why it failed for viewers expect The X-Files. But it works as comedy if you like the characters.

Since you've just watched the series, could you help refresh my memory on a point? I watched this show during the original run. I recall some controversy about an episode where the trio foiled an attempt for a hijacked plane to crash into the World Trade Center. After 9/11, when people asked "who could have imagined this could happen?", the media referred to "Chris, Carter, that's who", as this episode aired well before the WTC attacks. Did you make this connection at all when you watched that episode?

I did greaterpursuit because it was in the pilot for TLG and it pre-dated 911 is why Fox never shows(ed) the pilot episode in re-runs now. The 911 coincidence also delayed TLG getting to DVD for years.

My memory was a bit fuzzy on this but I recall that it mirrored the actual attack and there was discussion in the media about it.

I checked out Salvation and was somewhat underwhelmed. I'll give it one more episode to impress me because the story seems a bit different than others of its kind. It was interesting to finally see Jennifer Finnigan tackle a role where she doesn't look too young to be assuming the level of responsibility of her character. She's Press Secretary to a high ranking Pentagon official.
