My HBO "on demand" now includes an "old favourites" section, so I've been watching Six Feet Under. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I like the premise and Michael C. Hall as David (easy to see how he was chosen for Dexter despite the major differences in those characters), as well as Federico the restorative artist, but I'm lukewarm to full dislike/annoyance where other characters are concerned. I also made the mistake of spoiling myself for future seasons, and knowing the cheesy soaps that are the characters' personal lives continue is detracting from my will to watch.

Freddy Rodriguez has incredible talent so I enjoyed his work in 6FU. While James Cromwell and Frances Conroy own incredible talents, I found the Ruth-George relationship to hit that absurdist territory with annoying OOC regularity. It was such a disappointment to have confirmed that Nate was a narcissist unable to truly connect with Brenda and others in the ways he claimed to want. Some missteps but also many fantastic episodes in which lessons around death and grief were presented with grace.

Ripley , I find myself, even after only two seasons, appreciating David far more than I do Nate -- and really have since the beginning despite the former's missteps in season 1. I did find interesting a moment when, despite Nate's constant theoretical understanding and empathy, Claire literally ran straight to David's arms when things went wrong, as she has sought him out on other occasions when she was in trouble, as well. It all seems, especially when combined with David's stepping up with his partner's niece, to point to his being the rock, regardless of how ostensibly empathetic Nate is presented to be... which makes sense, given the sacrifices he, not Nate, made from the beginning. That Nate's choosing to leave (and then really not accomplishing a whole lot) seems to be so venerated drives me a little crazy, and I hope there's progressively more balance where the brothers are concerned in that respect. Nate demonstrated a deep commitment to himself, while his brother was able to put himself aside on behalf of his family. There are pitfalls to David's choices, but celebrating Nate's opposite choices and trying to present him as the touchy feely caring sibling/son doesn't entirely sit right with me. They might need each other for balance, but I know which of the two I'd put my money on in the end where the business and family life alike are concerned. As for Brenda... ugh. I can't say that I particularly enjoy her. Frankly, I find her and her whole family more than a little over the top, including their back story. The show's jarringly moving between signs of the "genius" Brenda's being an empath and signs to suggest borderline traits just doesn't work for me. Ruth, I just feel sorry for in perpetuity to the point of finding that tiresome. As for Claire, she's an angsty teenager, seemingly just for the sake of being an angsty teen, so:

I'm on season 6 of Shameless now and watching Jeff Kober (Joe from the Claimers). He is an absolute scream. I love him. He's really a fantastic character actor.
"We share everything" LMAO They must have had fun filming that scene.

I started watching the OA.... had to take a break during the middle of the first episode. It got pretty intense for me.
I am considering watching This is Us. And I need to get back to Sherlock. I fell asleep during the first episode of season 4 (I thought it was dull) but I think I missed something important and should go back and finish it before I go onto ep. 2

I am watching sense8 on Netflix. What a GREAT and cool concept! Very original and different, very engaging. About 8 people who have a psychic connection and they are literally all over the world. One thing that struck me RIGHT away...many really good looking people in the cast, and guess what? They can all ACT. Sorry but there's no excuse to hire an actor like AN when you see a show like this. I would actually highly recommend it. Well done, and very different. Sci fi/thriller'ish, Decent amount of nudity and simulated sex both straight and gay(and yes ladies full frontal male), so if that offends you that would be my only warning. On the flip side, possibly the most diverse show i've ever seen and done in such an effortless way you don't really notice which is the way it should be.

I was up this morning, so re-watched last Sunday's episode which helped my understanding a bit. Thanks for the suggestion walkingdeadrules! I love a diverse cast, with acting skills and have heard great buzz about the show, so will check it out.

I finished watching Sense8. Yes, I can be a binge watcher for a show I really enjoy. The first show was a bit confusing and it took me a few shows to really pick up on who everyone was fully as there are a LOT of character on this show. But I ended up enjoying it more and more as time went by. Lots of action in the second half(as opposed to the sexuality and drama we seemed to have in the first half), very clever, likable characters, and some very deep thought provoking (social)messages to boot. I've been thinking about it all day( i think it will strike a chord in everyone) and kept watching the next one in between doing what I needed to do. Overall, I really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it. I think those that enjoyed Lost will really like this one(as I did).

been binge watching z nation and gotham. All of my shows are on hiatus right now, not that there were many that I watch and I haven;t found anything new really interesting. don't have cable so that limits me some. I did finally get to watch the second season of Outlander and I was disappointed, hopefully season three is better .

I watched DCI Banks which I hadn't seen in ages, on PBS and then Vicious, a 2013 British sitcom starring Ian McKellan and Derek Jacobi as a couple who had been together nearly 50 years. Well- cast and the actor who played Ramsay Bolton on GoT is also in this. It was a bit confusing seeing him in a light comedic role (after his character on GoT), along with the 2 talented (in drama) leads but fun popcorn, laugh-track show with some great dialogue.

Watched John Wick. Had never seen it. I like it more than I thought I would. This is the best ... A Series of Unfortunate Events - Netflix. So well done. Patrick Warburton narrates the scenes as Lemony Snicket. After watching him, I can see how TWD Negan peeps really campaigned for him to play Negan. Neil Patrick Harris is so good as Count Olaf. The three children are delightful. There are new characters throughout the 8 episodes that add much to the fun but a sad fate awaits them and we don't see them in the next episode. The episodes are short and there are 8 in the first season. Netflix dropped the series yesterday. Wonderful fun well written series. walkingdeadrules Sense8 will be next.

I watched, over the weekend, the first 3 episodes of HBO's The Young Pope yesterday, with Jude Law, James Cromwell and Diane Keaton. I need to rewatch the episodes again because it is not at all a straightforward show. There are time skips, flashbacks but still a terrific view. One thing I love are the opening credits which change with each episode. In the third ep, the Pope walks past famous works of art with a moving meteor passing through each painting as he passes by. Very clever. I think you would enjoy that sequence honkytonkwoman.

Tried to watch Grace & Frankie. loved Lily Tomlin character and the support cast is good. But I really disliked Jane fonda's character.
