Tremendous! I loved all but the last season of Boardwalk Empire, and I loved all seasons of The Wire. So please watch both so . Treme I adore because it is the true heart of New Orleans, with Khandi Alexander, Clark Alexander, Kim Dickens, Wendell Pierce and Steve Zahn as wonderful leads. Food, Music, family, joy, heartbreak, culture.

You won't regret it.

These are only my humble opinions: I would recommend either The Wire or Treme first and then Boardwalk Empire. The Wire is one of my all time favorites - it's gritty, dark & realistic - it grabs you & never lets go. Acting is EXCELLENT - so many good actors came out of The Wire - Walter Goggins (loved him as Boyd on Justified), Father Gabriel/Seth Gilliam. It is a commitment. Treme is fantastic and a little less intense than The Wire because it's set in New Orleans - the music, the food, and you can feel the heat & humidity - it's steamy in the Big Easy! Acting is great and the characters & writing draw you in right away. And Boardwalk is a trip back in time - historical, how/why the gangsters came to power & very well done and acted - Steve Buscemi does an amazing job. It will just depend on what you're in the mood for - like sometimes you want something exotic and other times you want tried & true, but it will be hard to go wrong with any of these 3.(I loved True Detective!)

You won't regret it. Treme is also made by David SImon and features many of the same cast members from The Wire, The Corner etc. Clark Peters who was Lester on the Wire plays a NW Indian Chief, Wendell Pierce- Bunk on The Wire, plays a wonderful musician who helps teach music in the schools. Kim Dickens (FTWD Madison) is a chef, "Wendell Pierce starred as William "Bunk" Moreland in The Wire and starred as Antoine Batiste in Treme. Clarke Peters starred as Lester Freamon in The Wire and starred as Albert Lambreaux in Treme. Jim True-Frost starred as Roland Pryzbylewski in The Wire and has a recurring guest role as James Woodrow in Treme. James Ransone starred as Ziggy Sobotka on The Wire and had a recurring guest role as Nick in Treme. Edwina Findley has a recurring guest role as Tosha Mitchell in The Wire and had a recurring guest role as Davina Lambreaux in Treme" Even many crew are shared from both shows "David Simon co-created The Wire and Treme and served as an Executive Producer, head writer and show runner for both series. Eric Overmyer was a writer and consulting producer for the final season of The Wire and the co-creator, head writer and show runner for Treme. Nina K. Noble was an Executive Producer for both series. George Pelecanos was a writer and producer for The Wire and a writer and Executive Producer for Treme. David Mills was a writer for The Wire and writer and co-executive producer for Treme" I think The Wire and Treme come close to perfect television. You can;t go wrong and of course I have Boardwalk Empire up there too:)

One thing I love about Deadwood, Treme, The Corner and The Wire is the use of wonderfully talented character actors from Clark Peters to Kim Dickens. Actor snot Actors not as well known as A-list actors, but still full of heart and wonderful performances. Whichever series you choose to watch first, you will love it. I can't wait to discuss all 3 with you.

Ripley HBO loves to reuse actors. I knew a lot of the Wire alum were on Treme and Oz. Same with True Blood, The Newsroom, they pop up everywhere. I loved Boardwalk but I hated That they killed Jimmy. That was the one big mistake I think the show made, they could've expanded on that story then they barely had Nucky fret over the fact that he just killed the guy he practically raised as a child. Then they didn't even have him flash before Nucky's eyes during his own death. He saw Gillian. I wish he would've saw both. Also pissed Richard died. lol

Yes, I like that about HBO. I haven't watched The Newsroom because Bill Pullman is an actor whom I just do not like. I agree that was a huge mistake but I also think killing Richard and Chalky were terrible failures as well.MKW was so wasted the last 2 seasons of ME IMO

Jeff Daniels is the lead. I LOVED that show too, but I hate that Sorkin's ego ended it after 3 seasons. He wasn't getting West Wing ratings so he bailed, which was a shame because he had a great cast and I loved the flow of show. I recommend that series. Richard, IMO deserved a happy ending. If they had to write him off that final season, I would've rather he just got on that train with Julia and Mikey. Chalky's death felt so rushed. Like they had no idea what to do with him after they killed Mabel. And that home invasion story he got before? A complete waste off time other than the line "Baby girl, Jesus was wrong." That was delivered to perfection

I finished episode 5 before I went to bed. I'll finish it off today. Love it so damn much. I now understand the hype. I liked the 2nd season too. Not as good as the first, but still good as a stand alone. I don't understand the hate for the second season. McAdams' work is a reason enough to see it

S2 was never going to be as good as S1, but it wasn't bad by any means. It even managed to make me like Taylor Kitsch's character, that's shocking.

I finally am watching Netflix comedy " Grace & Frankie". Wondering why I waited so long : For as long as they can recall, Grace and Frankie have been rivals. Their one-upmanship comes crashing to a halt, however, when they learn that their husbands have fallen in love with each other and want to get married. As everything around the ladies is coming apart, the only thing they can really rely on is each other. This Netflix original re-teams Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin ("9 to 5") as Grace and Frankie, respectively, bringing their chemistry to the small screen. It's a casting reunion on a grand scale, as Tomlin is reunited with her co-star from "The West Wing," Martin Sheen, who plays Grace's husband, Robert. And Fonda is back with Sam Waterston, her co-star from "The Newsroom," who plays Frankie's husband, Sol.
I'm almost finished with Season 1 (Season 3 will be coming May/2017). This is a hoot! Has anyone else seen this?

Having watched part of one ep, Mia, I certainly wouldn't. From an A and E reality series standpoint, I much prefer "Born This Way". I'm sad each time a season ends. I enjoy the trainwreck that is Married At First Sight for sheer entertainment value, but I'd happily see it cancelled if I got Born This Way year-round instead.

I found a lot of problems with season 2, but I liked McAdams and Kitsch's work there. Vaughn and Farrell were good too. The whole sequence at the house party when Ani gets drugged felt like it was right out of a Hitchcock movie. Loved that.

I've seen bits of Boardwalk Empire and only really heard stuff about the Wire and Treme. I'd probably, the other 2 unseen, say to put them first. I just couldn't, as talented as much of the BE cast was, get into it... but then I'm not big on gangster dramas in general.
