I'm not that surprised now that Carol got sidelined.... I had a feeling Morgan would be backburned alot in season 7, after his flop return in season 6. And as Carol was apart of the Morgan's flop return arc. And is stuck with the character .... it's makes sense Carol would end up being sidelined to... I don't know if I agree that Carol is sidelined because of Morgan. We already have seen enough to know that gimple has no problem doubling down on things the audience isn't into and he clearly had every intention of sticking with the plan he made in season 6, which would include Carol getting the amount of screentime he intended back in season 6 - I think the show thought letting Carol sit out season 7 would be fine because negan would carry most of the story. I agree on the Negan stuff... but I tend to think the complete backburning of Morgan was more AMC decision than it was SG... SG has soft spot for Morgan / Lennie and that was shown when he changed storylines and moved arcs to fit with when Lennie wanted to return to the show. And now the character has nothing to do at all. I think something happened BTS with AMC probably not being happy with the reaction to Morgan's return. And as Carol was apart of the Morgan story and was stuck with Morgan in the final... it makes sense to she would end up with the same amount of backburning as Morgan. At the start I was kinda happy about Carol going to The Kingdom and stuff. but now I get the feeling that SG really doesn't seem to like the whole The kindgom and anything to do with it. He put Carol at The Kindgom and removed her in the same episode. Its like he only did it because its in the comics like Hilltop. I dread what kind of screentime the characters who end up permanently at Hilltop and The Kingdom gets next season.

I dread what kind of screentime the characters who end up permanently at Hilltop and The Kingdom gets next season. I guess I just have a hard time seeing that AMC stepped in without evidence when it comes to the Morgan stuff but not all of the other things the audience was reacting negatively to. And if AMC had wanted Morgan out of the way but not Carol then you'd think either Morgan would carry on after he'd killed the savior or Morgan would simply have been killed off. Either scenario would have worked without affecting kingdom/Carol. As far as the kingdom and hilltop in the future, I agree that Gimples isn't going to be able to balance that well, but I don't think Carol was put at the kingdom to get rid of her anymore than Maggie was put at the hilltop for the same purpose. Carol and the kingdom are being sidelined so they can swoop in later to save the group, just like in the comics - I think that both hilltop and the kingdom exist because gimple is trying to follow the comics, but that doesn't mean they won't work. I'm personally excited about Carol becoming more involved in the kingdom - I don't love the lack of screentime but its so obvious what gimple is doing that i can brush it off (mostly)

Meggo358 I don't think Carol and Maggie where put at the Hilltop and The Kindgom to be sidelined either. I just think going by what SG has done this season adding unnecessary characters / locations etc.He really doesn’t have much story set up for them at these places. Other than Maggie definitely getting her comic arc becoming leader of Hilltop. And Carol's role at The Kindgom could possibly be her becoming their leader. But then Morgan is also there. And he seems to be a better fit there. And I don't see Morgan dying anytime soon due to his story with Ben and Ben's little brother. But I could see Ezekiel dying in season 8. Then I think they could end up doing a similar set up to the prison. With different characters taking on different roles. Having a completely different set up to Rick at ASZ. But all this story stuff probably won't happen way in season 8 or 9. And I totally understand the set up for Carol getting that light bulb moment just in time to help save ASZ from Negan. I just dislike the story and how predictable it is. but saying that I have disliked everything this season par the sasha & Maggie friendship, and the reunions in the MSF.

Carol: Daryl, Morgan and Ezekiel Daryl: his best friend, who without knowing her or having a relationship with her, decided to help her in her worst moment. Do they understand eachother? Obviously, both suffered a lot, have had dysfunctional families and lost their entire family. That one understands more than the other , yes it’s something inevitable there is always one more sympathetic than the other or who knows how to externalize things better Possible romantic interest: yes, why not? For a romantic relationship to be good and get ahead, the members of the couple have to be friends. They have already solved that part. Both need love and happiness, why not try it together?
Morgan: Are he Carol’s firend? I don’t consider him her friend, the writers have been forcing their friendship, which obviously hasn’t worked because their friendship is overly artificial. Morgan took advantage of Carol in a moment of weakness to instill his beliefs, a friend doesn’t take advantage of a moment of weakness of the other to impose its philosophy Romantic interest: definitely not Ezekiel: What role does she play in Carol's life? At this moment none. A subject that gave her asylum in his community, with she which had a private dialogue in which some faces fell. Ezekiel discovered she lie, yes, tthe liars understand each other and obviously Ezekiel also lies and uses a mask so it was easy for him to read Carol, which doesn’t imply that he can understand her better than other people, it only means that both wear a mask to cover what they really are. Can they be friends? I don’t have enough elements to conclude that yet. For now I only see him as a subject who offered asylum to her but does n’t respect her desire to be alone and and ttry to heal, otherwise he would not insist so much on frequent visits. Romantic interest: could be, there are no elements that ensure or deny that yet
Sorry for the grammatical errors

Though I love this pic, I hate that she appears to still be in that awful outfit she wore when Morgan and Richard visited.

Though I love this pic, I hate that she appears to still be in that awful outfit she wore when Morgan and Richard visited. This is almost certainly for 7x09.... Maybe she changes for 7x10. Probably not though. They really want to drive home the fact that she's in a bad place and baggy clothes are the way to do it. Maybe we'll see the signs of her becoming better {Spoiler} the first time she leaves the house in 7x14, by wearing clothes that fit.

I love seeing the articles saying how awesome it is to see Carol with a gun in the trailer. While saying how much of the a mistake the show did with her arc.

HONORABLE MENTION | No fan of The Walking Dead can say that the long-awaited reunion of besties Carol and Daryl didn’t live up to its promise. When he showed up unexpectedly on her doorstep, her portrayer Melissa McBride‘s face registered, in an instant, more emotions than we can even name. But it was after Carol explained her painful decision to leave Alexandria, so as to save her soul by stopping killing, that the actress really blew us away. Her eyes filling with tears unbidden, she showed us how desperately afraid Carol was to ask if the Saviors had retaliated for the attack on their outpost. When Daryl said that everyone back home was OK, McBride’s expression of relief was so palpable that, for a minute, even we believed her pal’s beautiful lie. link

It's beyond ridiculous that Melissa McBride doesn't have an Emmy yet.

Anyone have any more pix of Melissa in her Kingdom armor? There's a photo floating around here somewhere. It's of MMB getting food at the craft's table between takes.

This is fantastic!!!!
I hope Mr. King loved Melissa's work in The Mist as much as I did! (I heard the cast and crew gave her a spontaneous round of applause! )

“Badass is really hard for me to wrap my head around because I don’t feel like I play her as a badass, she just does badass-y things. I’m so proud of Carol. [What she’s going through is] nothing compared to what she came from. If she could withstand that… and still she’s learning from where she was. Any bad thing that happens that you can’t learn from it is a missed opportunity. It’s okay to be in a mess when your mind is in a mess. I’m proud of her for that and I do admire that in her for being honest with herself and not just being a people-pleaser.”
