If anything, they'd be focused even more on the line-up. It wouldn't surprise me if Mel and Lennie are not part of that one either.

Ugh... that is a good point. NYCC is on October 6-9 this year. It would be complete BS if the show takes Melissa out of this one to. They already removed her from the SDCC so they can push the Lucille crap.

I'm looking forward to 7b..and seeing Carol find some balance and true happiness. It's been so long since Carol experienced either of these things. I am looking forward to this as well and not just because I'm invested in this character, but also because it seems completely unrealistic to me this much garbage could be piled into one character for this long.

Yep the misery porn has been non-stop since SG took over. The only real moment of happiness she got was when she reunited with Daryl. She had a real big genuine smile... I want to see that smile again.

I think the last time we saw Carol really happy was even further back...4.1, I guess? On a sort of related note...I always thought that Carol was getting close to some sort of catharsis in consumed before she gets hit....the way the (personal opinion: frustratingly repetitive) conversations were going in combination with her wanting to help Noah when Daryl didn't....I wonder if Carol hadn't gotten taken/Daryl stopped being attentive after Beth died if Carol wouldn't have been able to confide in her friend what happened and worked through all (or some, at least) of the guilt/grief associated with what happened with the girls. Could definitely be wrong but it's something I'll always wonder.

Season 4- Carol misery porn and separation from TF Season 5- Carol misery porn and separation from TF Season 6- Carol misery porn and separation from TF
SG said he likes change. So don't do in Season 7 the exact same thing you've done for three seasons straight.

Then the story between Carol and Morgan would have never worked. The show needed to Carol to stuck not moving forward and isolated. And yes agree about the prison. I think the prison was were she got to be, who she always wanted to be. Hopefully she finds prison Carol again.

From SDCC "This is American Gods, and we are all obsessed with Melissa McBride. So how much do you love her and why? And do you love her more than me? I don’t think you do.” - Bryan Fuller asks the cast darylscarol

A part of me likes to think Bryan Fuller is throwing a little shade at the fact that MMB isn't there. He's made it clear in the past she is the main attraction to the show to him. I love that a Hollywood heavy hitter (ish?) is such a fan of hers, and I really, really hope that when MMB is off this show he convinces her to go work for him.

Melissa McBride nominated for a EW’s 2016 Poppy Award (formerly known as the EWwys, where you get to vote for your favorite Emmy-snubbed shows and actors of the year) for Best Supporting Actress Drama link

That way, she can get freshened up, and when her bff Daryl visits there, they can give him the works too.

If Carol has been wanting to leave the group since season 4 or 5A, why would she have joined them when they went to Virginia in 5B? If she wanted to be isolated from them, she could have just stayed in Georgia.

If she wanted to be isolated from them, she could have just stayed in Georgia. The group was in bad shape after 5a. They had lost two people, running low on resources, etc. I wouldnt expect her to put her desire to get away above the needs of the group. Leaving in 6b was different because the group is overall confident in their ability to take on negan (or any foe, in general) and are in a relatively stable environment. Plus she had morgan's sanctimonious judgement and her own isolation from the rest of the group (who, again, all seemed to be doing pretty well) as extra motivation to get the hell out of town.

Carol's development came to a stand still the moment SG was able to get Morgan back. And he was able to do his planned since season 5 arc "All like is precious " crap (puke)
So until this arc is finish which will be episode 15 or 16. Carol will have no development with her character or story.
And looking at the spoilers and looking at Melissa's latest comment. Carol isn’t Suzy Homemaker anymore, is she? Melissa McBride: The persona that Carol is taking on is a little bit different than the one she had in Alexandria. She has a little more sass.
Carol's arc she had with Morgan is about to be redone in season 7. Only this time,She won't be bodyslamned and knocked unconscious. But she will had a new male character telling her he sees her blah blah blah (puke) .

I just hope this will lead to Morgan sacrificing himself or moving away permanently. What a waste it was. I love LJ but this was not a good way to use him and it'seems only using Carol in service of him.

And I would say that misery Carol is still happening {Spoiler} She is still at the cemetery house.
