All the kids are home and they are eating everything in sight. I am doing my best to keep up. Will make some mac and cheese, turkey pot pie (with last of Christmas turkey), sloppy joe..Think cheap, filling food. Whatever it takes.

Bought some Sheila G's brownie brittle in a bag as went shopping on my way home from work(got off early today). Kids demolished it. If you haven't tried it, don't. Very addicting. They wanted more. I had changed clothes and didn't want to get dressed to go out and baked brownies instead(from a mix I'm lazy and needed immediate results). The whole house smells so good right now but everyone is starving lol

I made a party magnet last night. Cheese ball with some interesting flavors from sciracha and dates. Then I got crazy and made crackers. It was pretty easy and since my rolling pin is in storage I used my water bottle. Worked just fine.

Turkey/Black Bean Chili - I roasted a turkey breast after Christmas and the remainder fit nicely into my plans.

My lucky New Years Day Supper was Black-eyed peas that I cooked in a crockpot with a smoked pork shank, garlic, onions, bay leaves, salt, pepper and a bit of sugar. We had that with St. Louis style pork spare ribs and broccoli slaw. Yummy!

Saurkraut with brown sugar! The kraut doesn't make my house smell nearly as good as walkingdeadrules' but I'm having seconds, lol.

We had an "Appetizer Buffet" with Dry Rubbed Ribs, Hummus, Homemade Pita, Black Eyed Pea Dip (for luck), Lebanese Salad and the usual crackers/cheese/salsa/chips/guacamole.
My son received an "illy" Espresso Machine for Christmas. I had two Americano's with Almond Milk and I am feeling the effects.

Leftover Asian-flavored chicken noodle soup. I made ramen stick yesterday, but when it came time to eat, my bowl looked more like pho with lemongrass-pork meatballs I made and froze in December. Napa cabbage, scallions, ginger, onion, bell pepper, fresh shredded mint and cilantro plus a dash of my favorite chile oil with garlic shards.

Had lunch at a great place today and ate my brunch leftovers for dinner: fried green tomato slice, still crispy, half of my sweet potato pancake with peach-butter and mustard greens. Yum

I had Pomegranate Jelly for my dinner, and never again. (puke) Carol ended up enjoying Pomegranate seeds - she was definitely munching those when she went to the door to chat with Morgan in Ep 8.

I'm trying out new foods, and got chickpea crisp ( chips in America) and they were (puke) Between that and the pomegranate jelly, you don't seem to be having much luck. I'm trying to convince myself to eat one of my mom's rhubarb tarts. They're usually spot on, but the crust prep went awry somehow, leaving them chewy.

Used one of my 4 oz Omaha Steaks for tacos (4) last night, so got several meals out of it. Napa cabbage slaw, fruit and veg-delicious!

I was recently gifted some Hello Fresh! meals. They send everything you need to prepare the meals in a box and a menu card with pictures and directions to make it. Last night was Shrimp tacos with carrot and red cabbage slaw, tonight we are having oven roasted chicken in a lemon thyme sauce with winter veggies and tomorrow it's balsamic onion burgers and crispy cauliflower.
