I confess I don't recognise Morgan as one of the Atlanta survivors. It's The Atlanta 5 not The Atlanta 6. Morgan is the long lost cousin who just pops up once and a while to annoy everyone. He's the distant relative who was invited for a visit and has now seemingly taken up permanent residence on the couch. Unfortunately, nobody realized how annoying he could be until he started eating other people's food and, well, talking; had anyone known, he wouldn't have received an invitation in the first place. In other words... I agree. There's no such thing as the Atlanta 6. Pretending there is, IMO, is unfair to the actors who have been committed to the show, year in and year out, since the beginning and thus earned their place as the true audience favourites (along, of course, with other long term permanent fixtures Michonne and Maggie -- I.e. DG and LC). TPTB have no place trying to hand another character/actor a place at that table for the purpose of promotion and aggrandizement because "Atlanta 5" really denotes a longstanding connection with the audience, not a technicality of early presence on screen and ongoing survival. (To be clear, this is a criticism solely of tptb, not LJ.)

I confess that I've always thought that MMB and CLC should've received Emmys for "The Grove", but now that it's water under the bridge and considering the forced and ridiculous plots now given to MMB, I'm hoping for a resounding defeat come Emmy-time. I don't want to see mediocrity rewarded. (I'm not saying MMB or her acting is mediocre, just the decision-making about the writing).
I also confess that I think TPTB are overlooking a goldmine by not utilizing Danai Gurira in the writers' room.

darkandstormy, I agree, especially about not rewarding the show's poor writing choices in any way (because SG would certainly view an Emmy for acting as his being on the right track re: the material he's dispensing) and the ridiculous underutilization of DG. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much will to use Michonne as anything beyond Mrs. Grimes, the more stable, generally wise counterpart of drama Llama Rick even when the story calls for some drama for her. (e.g. Michonne's killing a kid... would that not have some emotional impact?) Speechifying is hardly allowing DG to stretch any acting muscles, and Michonne seems to do little else at this point. I confess that I hope DG leaves the show if the writers can't (be bothered to) come up with anything better for her, ideally at the expense of screen time for characters like Spencer and <insert whichever other red shirt SG feels the urge to glorify> that the audience doesn't care much about and still won't despite the writers' most pointed efforts. Oh, and at the expense of screen time for the middle aged men. Why exactly are there so many of them floating around (with more sure to be added)? I further confess that I find the number of middle aged men prominently featured on this show a little absurd, particularly when compared to the number of similarly aged women (who seem to be subject to a delete one, delete one system -- not to be confused with the delete one, add two system where their male counterparts are concerned) and younger men.

I confess I hate what the writers did to sasha in season 6 with the Abe shit. I also confess it was ridiculous to see two beautiful smart women side eye each other over the red head douche.

Middle aged redhead douche -- i.e. the dream man of every unmarried heterosexual (or bisexual, for all we know) woman below the age of 35... apparently.

I confess that while at the Kingdom I want Carol to be given this horse. His name is Frederik the Great and he's the most beautiful stallion in the world. What?! If Ezekial can have a tiger, Carol can have Frederik. I mean LOOK at him. Seriously, look at him and try not to drool. Now imagine Carol riding him.

I confess, after watching "Roots" tonight & seeing his fantastic performance as Mingo, I feel it was TWD's loss more than Chad Coleman's when Tyreese died. Mingo is a very different character for Coleman to play, with his emotional agony apparent in every look and word, but Coleman carried it beautifully. I hope he wins an award for Mingo and somebody gets nauseated thinking of how his talents were wasted & that might-have- been Emmy opportunity missed. ^^^^
T.H.I.SGreat performance by CC.

I confess I always felt that any one who said "if so and so dies I will stop watching the show" was silly, as people should be invested in multiple characters and the show itself. But with the prospect of Glenn's death this year(my second favorite character), if we have more of the turd writing we saw last year this year again and they couple that with Carol's death, I will probably stop watching something I never imagined myself doing.
PS...I pride myself on never getting angry at things in general, but this years finale in particular really angered me. All of that build up for a cliff hanger, and if it is as we all suspect Glenn, everyone's number one choice and right out of the comics, then my anger will reach a new high not just cause I love Glenn but because I find the whole thing crappy to put it politely.

I confess I giggle a little when once naysayers come around to the side of "if so and so dies I'll stop watching" because to me it's always been a legitimate reason. We all watch for different reasons, and for me Carol is it. However, after the crapfests which were seasons 5 and 6, she may not be enough to keep me around much longer.

Ok, another confession, this one less popular. I like Morgan(ducks quickly). I don't like what they've done to his character, but I do think Lennie James is an amazing actor and I hope they change his character up to be less of a dick to coin everyone's favorite phrase. I still say as amazing as MMB is, Lennie James' snub for guest star emmy for Clear was just as much of a snub.

I'm just afraid he'd come to the same sorry end all of animals on this show ~ especially Rick's first horse, Nervous Nelly, Flame and Buttons.

darkandstormyOT: but if anything was to happen to Frederik, I would open up a can of West Indian whoop ass that could be viewed from outer space. Watch Carol's stallion (and no I don't mean Daryl) in action Back on topic: I confess I wish season 4 Patrick lived long enough to meet and become friends with Noah. It would have been a Chris/Greg reunion in the ZA.

How is the glorious Frederik at kicking creepy stalker types when they start speechifying or trying to play amateur shrink, Sexual Chocolate? Those do look like some fierce legs/hooves... I confess that following filming spoilers right now is like having someone pull off a band aid at a rate of 1/2mm per week when all I want is for someone to rip it off and show me the whole festering, Gimplefied wound underneath.

I confess that once the identity of the LV is confirmed, regardless of whomever it is, we will have a tasteful memorial set up so that everyone can can honor that fallen character and the actor who plays him or her. It will be good for the fandom to be able to grieve that loss and react as needed, whatever that looks like IMO.

I confess if Glenn is the LV, I would have preferred that he died in Dumpstergate. It would have made for a better and more heartbreaking end to his story, since I think the CH will lessen some of the death's emotional impact. Glenn's death in Thank You would have been known to us, the audience, but never confirmed to team family. And I mean never. No clues. No finding his watch or gun at a later date. He would just be gone like so many other missing people in the world. A few members of team family would always have hope, more would accept his death and move on, while Maggie wouldn't know what to believe and would struggle to find a new normal. To me that's a better way of using a death to propel the story of others. We don't always get to say goodbye to those we love, and although a zombie show, I think TWD should mirror real life.
P.S. There's a Caryl fanfic like this and it damn near broke me.

I have two contradictory (is this a word?) confessions:
I confess the pseudo writer in me would have had only the Atlanta 5 + MM in the Lucille line up. Keep the stakes high af and make the whole fandom sweat. If the writers wanted to include the shitty 7 month cliffhanger then that's the way to do it.
I confess I'm happy Carol is no where near the line up.
