Still not over this gentle giant. Miss him and his interactions with team family but mostly, his friend, Judith.

The Grove, CC and MMB remains one of the best episodes ever. CC always portrayed Tyreese as a man with a heart too big for his body and for this world. Yep, I need counseling for this and want to know if Gimple will pay my bills? Wait until he gets my cardiologist bill after the Glenn fiasco. #jerk #hate this show in a loving way #Tyreese love

I was just thinking recently how much I miss Tyreese. He had such a wonderful presence, and he managed to be a non annoying pacifist. (Looking at you, Morgan) I miss him so.

To this day I can't figure out why they killed him. He had so much more story to tell:
Internal fall out for allowing the douchecanoe with the baseball cap to live His relationship with Carol, the only other person who knows what happened at The Grove His relationship with Carol and residual feelings about the killing of Karen Forgiving himself for his role in Lizzie's death His relationship with Sasha, the sister who's getting harder before his eyes
Honestly, I feel like his death was a last minute decision.

I really felt like with Tyrese, they just didn't know what to do with him. Didn't you think that? It's like they took a few scenes out of the comics and gave it to him, and that was it. There was a lot of "stuff" they could with him, but just didn't seem to want to. It seemed like they were focused on the number of new actors/characters they were bringing in and wanted to clean house a bit so he and Beth were killed. Chad Coleman was a great actor, and the character of Tyrese was very likeable. Someone else who watches the show felt he and Glenn were too much alike character wise and that's why Tyrese went which I found interesting when mentioned to me and I could see that, but of course I don't agree lol. As I always say, it's one thing to understand someone's point view, it's another thing entirely to agree with it

walkingdeadrules If the writers didn't know what to do with him then they're lazy as fuck. See my above list of unresolved issues specific to Ty. And yes, tptb were cleaning house but for all that is holy leave the strong actors with unfinished storylines be. Fuck Morgan! I would have loved to see how Ty handled or didn't handle the Wolves. I would have loved to see Ty's interview with Deanna in contrast to Carol's. So much material wasted. I don't know if I 100% agree that Glenn and Ty were too much alike. Glenn, although having not killed a human being would (and did) in order to protect his family. I think Ty would've had much more trouble doing what was asked of him in the last episode. I didn't expect him to live forever but at least long enough to tie up some loose ends.

I agree with you Sexual Chocolate. What I meant was I always felt like they thought they needed to introduce this guy because he was in the comic and they brought him in and figured out how to do a few iconic comic scenes with him, and then just didn't seem to know what to do/care to do anything/want to do anything whichever way you want to look at it. I have felt that way about many of the people that came from the comics and were quickly dispatched. Ultimately, it is a tv show which means they need to pay actors to stay on the show and the longer they are on the more they have to pay them. More importantly, they have a limited number of people they can keep under contract and they have to pick and choose. For whatever their reason, they didn't see Tyrese as one of these key players and as they were looking to introduce other players they saw him as expendable. While I agree that I knew he would eventually go, I thought it was way too soon for him, but I have thought that of others too to be fair. I really thought CC was a very good actor and liked his character, but I also thought that of Axel, Oscar, and a host of others.

Now I understand and I completely agree with you. Axel and Oscar are also on my died too soon list. Not all stories need to be tied up with a pretty bow but some deserved a little more fleshing out. I guess my headcanons will have to be enough for me.

I miss Tyreese I wish Gimple never killed Tyreese off I firmly Believe that it was a mistake to kill him off. Gimple could have done such more with his character it was a waste what they did to the character.

I said it before and I'll say it again, Tyreese and Sasha's reunion at the end of No Sanctuary was sadly underappreciated. And I would trade Morgan for Tyreese any ole' day. It would've been a hellava lot more interesting and organic if Carol and Tyreese were at odds during JSS and beyond. Him desperate not to kill, and Carol feeling like she has no choice. It would've been a whole lot less preachy too. What a waste.

"Hey, let's hire world-class actors, have them on the show for a bit, not fully utilize them, kill their characters off, and then fill 16 episodes with drawn out bs."

reckon Chad was amazing in The Grove but I think his best work was in What's Happening and What's Goin On. Why in the world tptb didn't utilize his talents more, I'll never understand. The writers set up story arcs for Tyreese and then completely dropped them, yet, they'll keep around useless characters played by shitty actors.

I wonder if Tyreese would have loved to be at the Kingdom. And I wonder what Tyreese would have thought of King Ezekiel.

I wonder if Tyreese would have loved to be at the Kingdom. And I wonder what Tyreese would have thought of King Ezekiel. That's an interesting question. Tyreese was a very straight forward guy. I don't know what he would have thought of the "theatrics". As he was a peace loving man, he would have liked the philosophy though.
