"...Does Kirkman have a new obsession? Judging by the lead actors on his two most recent TV ventures, it seems Kirkman must also be pretty keen on Gone Girl. Not only did Kirkman and co. cast Gone Girl’s Kim Dickens as Madison on AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead, but Patrick Fugit — who played Dickens’ onscreen police partner in the David Fincher movie — was also selected to play Kyle Barnes on Cinemax’s Outcast, a 2016 adaptation of another Kirkman comic book. But the connection goes even deeper. Allow Dickens to explain. “You know what’s so funny is that the first I actually saw of The Walking Dead was with Patrick because we were shooting some Gone Girl driving scenes in the cop car,” says Dickens. “I remember it was night, and we were waiting in the car, and he said to me, ‘Have you ever seen this show?’ He started playing it on his iPhone, and we would just sit there quietly and watch it in between takes while we were waiting to drive up and stuff. That was the first I really saw of it.” Little did either of them know at the time that they would both each end up working with the man who created it. “Pretty great that we both end up on a Robert Kirkman show and that I kind of experienced it for the first time with him,” laughs Dickens. “I adore Patrick Fugit, and I thought he was incredible in Gone Girl.” Apparently, so does Robert Kirkman..." link
