I think I'm back to hating D&D. Why? Like... besides the usual. Cause I hear stories about how they're just completely inept as show runners.

Not having Gendry mention Arya is a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge misstep. Holy shit.
Also where the fuck is Ghost?

I toyed with a 6 or 7 but I'm giving it a 6.
LIKES Dany and Jorah reuniting, that was beautiful and they have so much chemistry. Jaime and Tyrion meeting. The horror of the Tarlys getting burned Gendry is back* Lots of Davos Sansa and Arya's bickering was handled well.
DISLIKES *No mention of Arya, I'm sorry but I can't get over how stupid that is. There's literally no reason why Gendry shouldn't mention her. Gendry being all gung-ho over being the son of Robert is weird. I'm bitter for Ghost once again. He gets a mention and no screen time. Every scene felt like it was just a bit too short.

Regardless of how any of them feel about Arya, the fact that Beric, Thoros, The Hound, Gendry and Jon would all be together for the first and not a one of them says jack about her? Yeah fuckin' right! Jon's said Winterfell twice, but he knew Arya was last seen with the Hound but 'I saw you at Winterfell' is what he comes out with? Tantrums are here! (I think Sansa said something about Ghost? That Jon couldn't expect the North to wait for him like Ghost had?) I hate everything.

I bet they're going to do a reunion where Jon goes to hug Arya, then afterwards she runs to Gendry and he rubbernecks it and is all "uhh you know each other?" A mention would've been better. Fucking Hot Pie knew what Jon was to Arya.

It's like they've retconned Gendry as a character. As if somehow Davos had told him to go to Kings Landing and wait for him and the day he could take up his father's name and that's all Gendry cares about. Gendry, who has serious nobility issues is now all about being his father's son?

Fucking Hot Pie knew what Jon was to Arya. It's got to be deliberate...right? It's like the Sam shit. So many set ups about the fact that Dany just burned the Tarley's. Cut to Dany and Jon talking about it, cue Jorah rocking up talking about how he's been cured...uh, hello, by who again? It's such an obvious omission, more than once, by more than one person, in both cases.

murph I'm thinking it has to be too because there's no way D&D just forgot that. But still, there's no mention in any of the leaks that Gendry tells Jon he knows Arya. This doesn't even feel like the same Gendry with his stag pride bullshit.

I wanted a better reaction from Jon when he found out Arya and Bran were alive too. I get why he wasn't all emotional in front of everyone, but a little more wouldn't have hurt.

Dany and Jorah though, those two have 100000 times the chemistry that Jon and Dany are trying to make us think they have.

I get why he wasn't all emotional in front of everyone, but a little more wouldn't have hurt. So much of his character has become about Dany. "I thought Arya was dead. I thought Bran was dead. I have to go home." Yeah, that's Jon... No wait, Dany's there so it has to become something else and all about the love-triangle BS with Dany, Jorah and Jon with Jon side-eyeing instead. Did he even think Arya was dead? Sansa did tell him that Brienne saw her with The Hound? Right?

Also dark sister , the fact that the raven part happened before Gendry seemed pretty deliberate too. The only Arya mention just happened to happen before Gendry was suddenly part of the team. I get it was plot timing, but these happenstances are piling up. The change between the script scene orders of cutting to and from Arya in Winterfell to Jon and Gendry has me second-guessing it though. They kept that pattern a few episodes beforehand when they were teasing the Arya and Jon reunion, but this time it wasn't there. I think it went from an Arya scene to a Sam scene... wait, the two character's Jon and co are omitting mentioning...is that deliberate?

murph they're going to fucking Caryl us with Arya and Gendry. My partner said they thought they had maybe aged him a bit, which I thought was an interesting comment, and if true...well, yeah. It was hard to tell. I was trying to remember what Joe Dempsie looked like when he would have started filming again. I don't remember. Point is, I was wondering if the short hair was their choice or not. I'm tellin' ya, Sansa and Gendry is going to be the betrothal that saves the North at this rate.

That makes zero sense. I actually wonder if him not mentioning her is setting them up for a romance though. I know Joe Dempsie spoke against it back in S3 when Maisie was a minor, but she's not now so I imagine D&D won't take his feelings into account. I think they very well could have a mini romance next season. Obviously there will be too much fighting to have time for it, but I think he'll do something like melt LF's dagger down and cover Needle with it, and we'll maybe see feelings there? I don't know, but them ignoring it makes me think they might go in that direction.

Great episode! I'll give it a 9 this week. But, with my absolute new favorite quote coming from Davos with " Nothing fucks you harder than time!" Ain't that the damn truth!? Glad to see Gendry again, that was a surprise! And it's great to have Jorah back where he belongs as well. Although the whole him being in love with Dany and always has thing is a little creepy to me, I still love his character and hell, we'll see what happens I guess? I'm not sure how the whole "instant cremation" of Sam's father and brother Tolley will play into things once he reunites with Jon and Dany's group but there doesn't seem like there was a whole lot of love lost the last time he was with them so he might consider it a blessing in disguise that his Dad is a pile of ashes now?! His mother and sister were the only ones that seemed to really care for him? IDK? I think in the end, Jon is more like family to Sam than his own ever was so it should be fine. WTF is with Cersei being pregnantf?! Have they not learned what happens to their offspring from the last three children that were murdered or committed suicide due to their own misery?!? Why in hell would she think they could bring another incestual child into their world and it would survive beyond it's 16th birthday?!? Good plan, bring more misery on yourselves because the kid will never live to take over the iron throne if that's the school of thought she had? Can't wait to see the Arya and Littlefinger thing come to a head! They're gonna play each other to the very end these two but as snide and cunning as he may be, he's not gonna see it coming when she get the better of him and ends up taking him out! Just watch! Finally, this whole plan to bring a white walker "into captivity" to prove to everyone what's coming is great in theory but this is going to be quite the quest for this ragged group of hunters Jon is leading! (First of all, won't he or she melt, like "Frosty the Snowman" before they can get it to King's Landing?!? ) I'm just not sure that this plan was given quite enough "thought" before the execution was put into motion? But hey, that's just me! I'm sure it will go off without a single hitch! Anyway, onto another week of waiting for next Sunday! I love this show and am honestly just savoring every episode at this point! They are all amazing to me and the idea that the end is coming breaks my heart so every week is a gift!

Poor Sam. You cured an older man who creeps on a girl 14 years younger than him and then acts like she owes him for it and she burned your gorgeous brother alive.
