' Comic-Con: Marvel Showcases Super Team-Up 'The Defenders' (and 'Punisher')"

"...Loeb, clearly caught off-guard, gave an impromptu speech as the crowd showered him with love. Only Loeb was interrupted for a second time — this time by Punisher star Jon Bernthal. The actor, who first appeared in Marvel's first Netflix series Daredevil before being spun-off into his own series, introduced the first footage from Punisher. The clip, which is not being released, is perhaps the most graphic of Marvel's Netflix shows to date.

The teaser starts with a flashback to Frank Castle (Bernthal) and his daughter playing guitar before shifting into new footage of the character in his Punisher persona. First, Frank chases two baddies before gunning them down andr unning them over with his van in rural Alabama. Next, the scene shifts to Juarez, Mexico, where a cartel member is getting intimate with a woman when Punisher snipes him from across the border in El Paso, Texas. It's this shot that's rather graphic, as viewers see the man get shot in the head with blood splattering all over the wall behind him. Finally, the scene shifts to Chicago, where Frank kicks in an airport bathroom stall, choking the man inside. Begging for his life, the man tells him it won't bring his family back, bringing the clip to its end.

From there, the cast of The Defenders took the stage and offered a few hints about what's to come when Netflix heroes Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) and Luke Cage (Mike Colter) unite for the miniseries mash-up. Loeb confirmed that Iron Fist, freshly renewed for a second season, will feature Luke Cage favorite Misty Knight (Simone Missick). ..."
