Whether it be those you frequent in your hometown or places you've dined at while travelling, share some of your favourite restaurants here and what dishes you recommend. I'll start by recommending my favourite restaurant in my city, Toronto: Wish This is a lovely, cozy restaurant that is perfect for anything, but I love having brunch here. Their Florentine is my favourite and the decor, especially the patio, is just gorgeous.

What a beautiful place zincI favor local places - diners specializing in great breakfast and lunch. Fortunately there are several in my area. One of my favorite places is a local Vietnamese place that serves authentic street food. Honestly some of the best food I've ever had. Am going again on my birthday.

Speaking of Vietnamese food, Lotus in Minneapolis is amazing.

My area lacks good Vietnamese food, so I end up having to make my own. We are drowning in Thai and Japanese restaurants (never abad thing, right?) but no great Chinese or Vietnamese places. I love restaurants which are one-offs especially Mom and Pop places which are interesting with rgeat food. Most Asian places tend to invest their money in high quality food ingredients, not decor for instance. Some great places to eat if you visit Western NC: Early Girl Eatery: Named after a (local) type of tomato, Early Girl does great diner type food using organic local produce, meats and more. Service is great, weekend brunch is fantastic and just a good place in downtown Asheville to grab some food. I always bring out of town guests here. Red Stag Grill in the Grand Bohemian Hotel- Biltmore Village. Fun place to take guests who appreciate fine dining with a grand hotel atmosphere. Great cocktails and the place you will most likely run into locals Harry Shearer, Andie McDowell and various film stars in town making movies. The building is quite grand and a fun place to go. For local BBQ, 12 Bones Grill is where Barack and Michelle Obama eat when they visit the city. I get takeout pulled pork from there when I don't make my own. Since I lack a personal smokehouse. Othe terrific restaurants are linked in the 12 Bones article- White Duck Taco Shop, Doc Chey's Noodle House, The Lobster trap, Resaz and others. The only quibble I have is the Inn on Biltmore- Biltmore's food is merely adequate but highly overpriced, so we never eat there, bringing a picnic lunch instead when visiting the estate.
