There's no reason why there couldn't be, but IMO it's a matter of whether the writers are willing to write the scenes and if Gimple is willing to give them screentime. But there's nothing about the characters that suggests to me that they would not be friends with each other.

Is a maybe for me. At least between the main women, considering that the 3 now live in separate communities, it will be much more difficult, Gimple or the writers didn't show a true or great friendship between twd women when they lived in the same community, I think it's more difficult they show that now that they're separated.
But I would love to see a real interaction between the twd women.

They certainly could be friends and there's tons of potential but I just dont think the middle aged dudes running this show care much about the relationships between women.

My answer to the thread question is yes, of course, but I doubt it will happen for the reason you cite here. It's a shame. They could provide so much support for each other, just like women do in real life.

i vote "no" ' Because I think that the show fell into a cesspool and at this stage (watching spoilers and by personal feelings) i don't see that it's getting better. Sorry for pessimism And about the communication of women among themselves (friendship?what friendship? :-/ ) i think that everything will get worse.
also i think that there are things that are possible only between women, but Pimple and his retinue don't seem to know how to show women more voluminousl, without sinking at the same time in cliches: showing women often hysterical with monthlies, fools or anxious relationships with men.
But in my stories, women are friends yep. Probably my stories are too OOC

Not to be pedantic but I guess it depends on what people think constitutes friendship, because the show has had friendship between the female characters since it started until now. Whether that's Lori and Carol, Sasha and Maggie, or Tara and Rosita. I understand people's opinion that the quality, or the amount of attention those friendships get may have diminished, but that's not restricted to the female friendships; that's happened to all friendship on the show.

I think there's been some sweet friendships too carol/Lori michonne/Andrea Maggie/Tara
But for me the three leading ladies are M/M/C so would love some moment's between them I loved the Maggie and michonne when michonne tells Maggie that Beth,s alive and they hug it was great and it took a minute screen time but it meant a lot you could see the happiness on michonne,s face to bring this news to Maggie it showed us so much in so little time so yes they could do it but I voted maybe because tired of getting my hopes up for interactions between the three

I think the female interactions were alot better between season 1-3.. but when SG took over he started doing relationships not just female relationships to push certain arcs, even the Sasha and Maggie friendship seemed to have been created for paralling reasons which happens to be SG favourite kind of storytelling. Both lose siblings in season 5 then lose lovers in season 7. To me the most organic female relationship on the show is that of Tara and Rosita.

I say organically because their friendship has no underlying reason for it like SG is pushing some pointless story or like one of them is about to die . Their characters have scenes because the characters are friends and that friendship has been building since season 4 when they meet.. and that friendship hasn't been forgotten like alot of friendships on the show. In the season 7 final Tara was the one who was there for Rosita just like how Rosita was there for Tara when she got injured. Those scenes make sense because the show has put some effort into maintaining that friendship on the screen.

Rosita and Tara feels like the most realistic female friendship on the show to me right now. While I liked Maggie and Sasha's scenes last season, it was clear Gimple only used them to parallel each other. Losing siblings, losing lovers, etc. With Rositara, Rosita was kind to Tara when she and Abe's army picked them up, and consistently you saw them near each other or speaking in every scene they shared after that.
A female friendship is one of the things I want most for Carol as I'm sick of her isolation from TF. Same with Michonne, ideally I'd like to see them form a tight bond as they're my two favorite females but at this point I'd take just about anything.
