Wow, this was a great read in terms of the possible "soul-searching" TPTB for FTWD may have done. I like the comparison with The Governor vs Negan. I do agree that the overall storylines and experiences from FWTD are more realistic and likely in a ZA than what we get on TWD. The shift in writing, better dialogue and the characters with complex layers, such as Jeremiah. Thanks for posting this reckon! I am curious how other FTWD fans feel about the article and points made? webergal, Rosie, dom, retailhack?

Some good points in this article but even though I enjoy FTWD I'm not invested in the characters. I could stop watching the show now and not miss it that much. That's not the case for TWD. For all of TWD's failings of late, I am still invested in certain characters so, for me, TWD is still the superior show.

Pretty on point. TWD is an absolute joke right now. This show was damn good this last half season! I'm actually looking forward to its return but for now - GOT.

I actually enjoy ftwd more than twd now. Last season of TWD I skipped episodes and still haven't watched those skipped episodes. While I have watched every episode of FTWD this season and I will be watching 3b when it returns. I can't say the same for TWD 8a.

I've recently caught up with FTWD, having only watched the first season over a year ago.
I've enjoyed it, and found myself binge watching - something I haven't done with the walking dead since season 4 in 2014.
The characters seem to have more depth, they interact with each other, rather than spout speeches in each others direction.
I can't wait for the season to start up again.
