THR "'Better Things' Star Pamela Adlon Reveals First Reaction to Peabody Award Win: "What the Hell Is This?" (I am thrilled better Things won a Peabody- it is a terrific show)' "...Have you ever been to the Peabody Awards? Oh, no, never. I wasn't even aware of what it was. When we became finalists, I was like, "What the hell is this?" So I looked it up, and it turns out it's so cool. They have this think tank of people [THR's Kim Masters served as one of this year's judges] going through all this content and material — and then they have to come to a unanimous decision. It used to be the Pulitzer Prize of radio — that's what I read about it online. It was all about radio documentaries and journalism. And then they opened it up in the past decade or so to entertainment. The more I read, the more excited I got about it. Especially because I feel like with my show I was making stories that mattered but that we were under the radar a little bit. So this means a huge amount to me...." www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/better-things-star-pamela-adlon-reveals-first-reaction-peabody-award-win-what-hell-is-1003119

The Best Drama Series category at the Emmys fascinates me this year since Game of Thrones has to sit it out.
I think new dramas like Westworld, Stranger Things, and possibly This Is Us will certainly be there. Better Call Saul will be back. House of Cards likely too. The Handmaid's Tale, depending on if they put it in drama or in mini series could be there too.

The Handmaid's Tale would likely be in a limited series or mini series category. I can't imagine it not getting a nom. It's compelling (though disgusting) television.

The Handmaid's Tale would likely be in a limited series or mini series category. I can't imagine it not getting a nom. It's compelling (though disgusting) television. I've heard rumors about a season two so it makes me wonder if they'd stick it in Drama. HBO stupidly did that with True Detective's first season, and put it up against the final season of Breaking Bad. I wanted to shake whoever did that. ETA I forgot about The Crown. The Globes and SAGs ate that up. Emmys will too.

Nice to see some recognition for Elizabeth Moss. She's the reason I'm watching The Handmaid's Tale. She owns that role.

Emmy nominations are tomorrow! I'm sure TWD will get their obligatory make up nomination. Game of Thrones sitting out opens up a spot for drama. There's so many shows I'm rooting for. I hope for lots of Westworld, Veep, Stranger Things, Better Call Saul, The Handmaid's Tale, Feud, Big Little Lies, Mr. Robot and Fargo nominations.

I have to say I agree with you about "Barb" in Stranger Things. While the character was very likable and died a noble best friends death, I don't recall the acting being anything to write home about.
I was very happy to see Thandie Newton nominated for Westworld. I think she deserves a nomination as much as ERW does. I was also happy for Anthony Hopkins and Jeffrey Wright's nominations too. For once, I actually think the strongest actors got the nominations for a show. I am also happy to see Millie Bobby Brown nominated though I know she won't win....how exciting for her to get nominated for an emmy.
Good for SNL for all those noms too, they deserve it. I've actually become a huge fan of Leslie Jones, she cracks me up all the time, and Kate McKinnon is just consistently good.

I actually think SNL was overnominated. I feel bad for other comedies out there that got ignored in favor of them, though I don't deny they have amazing performers. But in no way should Wiig have gotten nominated for Guest.

Aziz Ansari, Samira Wiley and David Harbour were nominated for emmys and nothing else matters.
I'm so happy for these three

Aziz Ansari, Samira Wiley and David Harbour were nominated for emmys and nothing else matters. I'm so happy for these three I can't (well, I can) believe Wiley was nominated for the Handmaid's Tale and not OITNB. I was sure she'd be nominated for the latter. I expected the Emmys to have a massive boner for The Crown, but their boner for This Is Us was even bigger. Happy about the Westworld boner at least. HBO didn't need to feel bad for Game of Thrones not being eligible. That show racked up 22 nominations by itself.

Lots of my favorites on the list. TX for posting the PDF.
Fans of Stranger Things have a soft spot for Barb.
Carrie Coon, David Thewlis, Ewan McGregor - YES!!
I have not seen Westworld nor Big Little Lies - one of these days.
This Is Us - YES!! I'd like to see Ron Cephas Jones win.
And look at those noms for Feud.

I love Black Mirror, but it's complete bullshit that they got stuck in TV Movie for San Junipero. They should've been in Limited Series.

The Walking Dead was nominated in Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup For A Series for "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be". That is their only nom. I think the one reason is because of Glenn's Eyeball prosthetic. That might have won them over.

I'm sorry Malek was locked out this year but he won last year, so it's not like the Jon Hamm nominated every year and won the 7th time. I was glad Penny Dreadful was nominated several times in the final and third season. Great show.

Thrilled to see Elizabeth Moss and Millie Bobby Brown nominated in the respective actress categories. Michael McKean NOT being nominated for Better Call Saul is criminal. He was brilliant.

Totally agree ... his performance in the "Witness" episode was spectacular. www.hollywoodreporter.com/bastard-machine/emmy-nominations-debate-best-worst-year-1020883THR critics Tim Goodman and Daniel Fienberg celebrate the best ('Atlanta,' 'The Handmaid's Tale') and worst ('The Leftovers' snub, Barb) of the 2017 Emmy nominations.
Snippet:
The Better Call Saul episode "Witness" was a magnificently directed hour, and I'm glad Vince Gilligan got a nomination for it, even if I'm bitter about Michael McKean and Rhea Seehorn being ignored again.

Can't think of any other actor who accomplished that for me this past year. McKean's snub may end up being the "big one" for this season.

I think the one reason is because of Glenn's Eyeball prosthetic. That might have won them over. Tbh I don't even think many Emmy voters watch TWD, it just makes sense as a nominee in that category. Emmys like to stick to what they know. Case and point Modern Family's comedy nom this year.

I was stunned- he deserves a nomination (and a win IMO) for BCS> I love Jonathan Banks, but felt McKean should have gotten the nomination instead.
