Putting here instead of BMH topic in Episides for the insights and how Carol is affected. "... Carol portrayer Melissa McBride, who’s been separated from her Alexandria friends for nearly a whole season, talked to Yahoo TV about what convinced Carol to return to her butt-kicking ways, when she suspected Daryl was lying to her, what she really thinks of the “Caryl” relationship, and why she refused to get close to Benjamin (R.I.P.). It’s good to talk to you again, and after such a good Carol episode. You know, this is one of my favorite episodes this season. The performances [are] just so wonderful. How has this season been for you? All of your co-stars have said losing other castmates was very tough, of course, but also being apart from each other for the first half of the season was difficult. But you have been separated from them even longer, through most of the second half of the season. Has that helped a bit with Carol being isolated in the storyline? It’s been tough. It started off brutally, and they were gone. Then being separated, it was just really hard. It’s kind of like going to a… like moving away from home and going to a new school sort of. You meet new people, and you don’t see your old pals as often, but I like to go to set when I can and watch, and try to keep up that way. Yeah, it’s been very, very different for a lot of us. More frustrating at times. I guess, perhaps a little bit, it did play into that feeling of being isolated, wandering. I felt a little bit like I was wandering around. Then, you know, Carol’s in self-imposed isolation, and I’m like, “When am I going to work again? When will we see Carol again?” link

Nice to see Melissa confirming it wasn't her choice for her character being sidelined this season. I have a feeling LC might also share the same feelings. Both actresses who have been there since season 1 and 2 completely sidelined for newbies and red shirts...

Both actresses who have been there since season 1 and 2 completely sidelined for newbies and red shirts... MMB and LC were so good in "The Same Boat" but neither had had much to do this season. Maggie got one sad scene by Glenn's grave and then her screen went dark. Carol got The Well then her screen went dark. 7-10 wasn't about Carol. Just slivers of her interacting with Daryl. Not more than what? two minutes maybe? This past episode wasn't about Carol. She stirred herself off the couch and went to see Morgan. Basically it was a man pain episode devoted to men who lost their children. I do applaud that but we didn't see much Carol. It was Richard's pain, Morgan's pain, Ezekiel's pain, a twinge of pain from the Savior who was so furious that Benjamin died. I loved the episode but I have missed Carol, Maggie, and Sasha this year. Enid has been on more episodes than Carol (skating her way through ZA) Maggie, Sasha, and Carol. And one of them won't survive this season. I call BS on this concentrating on Rosita and Tara and ignoring the main female actors. Could you imagine that they would neglect Rick, Daryl, and Negan and concentrate on Tobin, Eric, and random redshirt? No, they wouldn't.

OMG fans would be up in arms if the males got the treatment that Carol and Maggie got this season. I wouldn't have a problem with Rosita getting so much screentime if her screentime wasn't her doing the same thing over and over again. Also her being more angry than Maggie is ridiculous... Abe treated her like trash when he dumped her. Yet we are supppse to feel for her... Maggie's backburning is one of the biggest WTF's this season... And Sasha's treatment is just bad, she will get focus in episode 14 and die in episode 15. > After watching Bury Me Here..I think it cemented that Carol won't be getting much in the final. This arc is about everyone at the kindgom but her.. I just hope Carol has a better season in season 8, and melissa gets good matherial.

I think Carol will surprise many people in the finale, and restore some faith for Carol fans.

This "Yeah, there’s a lingering question, there’s that lingering question. Also, does she want to go with him, or does she want to call him back? Or does she want him to just stay a little longer? There’s all sorts… that moment she turns around on the porch when he’s leaving is just loaded. There’s all kinds of stuff going on there."
But I am wary of her comment about the one way sign, she can't get into it, and it is pointing backwards.
Any ideas?

I think you are spot on,

I think you are spot on, Oh, I'm sorry i didn't understand you. don't know, i don't like "wonderful healing" but also don't like her soul will continue to be in the dark and depressed. In the beginning of the episode she also smoked ... i didn't like it. In fact, plainly it is not clear where her soul is now. My opinion - it wasn't completely cured and there was only a dull part of the pain. I'm prejusdiced caryl so i can't say objectively, but as a prejudiced caryl, i would like her to spend her time with Daryl for healing and comfort. With him, she doesn't see nightmares in her sleep

With him, she doesn't see nightmares in her sleep I am beginning to think Morgan foreshadowed a scene where she does talk to Daryl and will talk about Lizzie and Mika. I think she needs to talk about that before she can move on. (I go back and forth on whether that will ever come up again). In any event, it means a Caryl scene. Yeah, she is not miraculously healed... she is just changing direction.

The One-Way sign is pointing backwards as Melissa points out and as we can see for ourselves. First when she kills those walkers up on that tree and then when she is is returning to the Kingdom with her bags slung over her shoulders (the sign is on the ground pointing away from the Kingdom). By saying she can't say much about it, Melissa is suggesting there is a lot to say about it. The sign pointing "backwards" and away from the Kingdom can be interpeted a number of ways, but none of them bad, IMO. It could mean there is only one way to move forward and that is to fight, not just the war either. I think it also means she needs to return to ASZ. Not necessarily permanently, but she definitely has unfinished business there. A war to fight, a family to reunite and reconcile with and a man she needs to talk things out with.
