In general, the show is too sexist.
When women talk to other women, then they have two themes for conversation: men and the future war. Ie the show is written by men for men.
It seems that there is such a test of Bechdel for TV and movies.
Previously, TWD was better with women in season 1-5, now TWD doesn't pass this test, the main female heroes interact only with men!
Carol? Only with men . I love Carol, but she didn't talk with women after 6.13
Michonne? Almost only with Rick, not counting the woman-savior, whom she killed
Tara? Here a little better, but almost all of her conversations with other women about what Negan did
Rosita and Sasha? They were united by of same dead man.
Negan wives? Prepositively communicate among themselves about different things, but we were shown only scenes where they are concerned about the murder of Negan. I'm sure they have something to talk about, except their slaveholder
All in this show about men
I create this topic to hear your thoughts about this.

1. The movie tv show has to have at least two women in it, 2. who talk to each other, 3. about something besides a man.
This is a great topic. TWD receives a big ole' "F". Even in the earlier seasons when the show had more (but still too few) female to female interactions, I'm having trouble remembering scenes that would pass this test. Even Andrea and Amy's talk while out fishing was about their father. We can't even count the famous miss my vibrator scene because the conversation began with the women pointing out how they were stuck doing the washing and cooking. Perhaps, the first real scene that would pass this test was at the farm between Andrea and Beth (did Beth even speak?), and then Andrea and Maggie. There are more but they are few and far between.
It took 5 seasons for Carol and Maggie to truly interact and they had to be kidnapped together for it to happen. The most significant interaction Carol and Michonne have had was when they, along with Rick, interrogated Morgan about hiding Alpha Wolf, and even then Carol and Michonne didn't speak directly to each other. Carol and Jesse had the shared experience of being DV survivors and Carol spent more time talking to Rick about Jesse than talking to Jesse directly. How much interaction has Michonne had with Enid or shared lighthearted moments with Sasha or Rosita, or even Tara? Rick and Daryl are roaming around god's green earth chasing Jesus to the Benny Hill theme, but Carol and Michonne can't sit on a porch and shoot the shit. Yep, TWD gets a big ole F.

The Lori- Andrea squabbles- over the gun and then again over how each woman was passing her ZA tie still involved men, lol- Dale keeping the gun and also Rick, Shane, Carl etc. Tara-Maggie about Nicholas trying to kill Glenn in season 6. I've always hated that TWD fails the Bechdel test- here is a link for those who may not understand what is measured and why: linkMy favorite TV show of all time, Farscape, passed the Bechdel test even in 1888 when it first aired- amazing. They just do write shows like that anymore. sadly. TWD is skewed towards the infamous demographic of men, 18-39,k with an edge to late teen-early 20s viewers which makes the show what it is IMO.

Whoops- forgot to add that I believe the dudebro culture within TPTB and some of the writers also outs in what is perceived as desirable, hip and goals. More extreme walker kills, bigger push-up bras for some of the young actresses.
