Dead Like Me, an old Showtime series, will be showing Tuesdays from 8-10 on COMET network!
This fantastic series, created by Bryan Fuller, explores themes of life, death, grieving and change in Seattle as a young woman, Georgia ("George") Lass, is killed by the Mir toilet seat and becomes a "Grim Reaper" or taker of souls of the dying as her night job. She has to work as a temp at the Happy Time Agency to pay her bills and hangs out with fellow Grim Reaper gang members Mason (Callum Blue), Roxie (Jasmine Guy) Rube (Mandy Patinkin) and others.
The show also covers Georg's parents and sister plus how they deal or not deal with her death and rebuild their lives. Shot in Vancouver, the cinematography is gorgeous and shot life a feature film more than traditional TV shows.
Themes include mental illness, family dysfunction, death mythologies, rebuilding life and the various types of death- respite, too soon, tragic, comedic and merciful. You;ll adore Post-it stealing Crystal and Delores.
Humor and whimsy keep it from feeling maudlin. One of my favorite shows ever and Bryan Fuller's guidance makes this a gem. Melissa McBride would have fit right into the show and very well, giving her a chance to use her comedic chops well.

I loved this show! I think I've loved every show Bryan Fuller has created. I'm eager to see American Gods. I agree, Ripley , Melissa McBride would have been great on DLM. Well, she's great in everything.

reckon, I had forgotten until I watched tonight how beautiful the musical cues were on the show- reminds me of Bear McCreary's work on Outlander and earlier seasons of TWD.
