"...The Terrapin Beer Company gave fans a Red India Pale Ale called The Walking Dead Blood Orange IPA a little over a year ago, but now another beverage is on the way based on a well-recognized part of the show and comics. In late February of 2017, a ‘super limited’ release of a new Blackstrap Molasses Stout product will be released from Terrapin, only this time it will be based on Negan’s weapon of choice, his barbed wire baseball bat Lucille.... “Inspired by Negan and Lucille, his weapon of choice, Terrapin Beer Co. and Skybound’s super limited release is sure to be a hit. Lucille, a Blackstrap Molasses Stout will be released in 500 ml bottles with a label that does the barbed wire wrapped bat justice“Lucille,” the weapon of choice inside this bottle, is an imperial stout brewed with blackstrap molasses and vanilla. Swinging for the fences, we aged this beer on hickory, maple, and white ash, the three woods that are used to produce baseball bats. Big and menacing, its flavors hit hard...." linkOut in February 2017

I remember the hype Terrapin's Blood Orange www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/2372/182584/had before release. It is considered a decent beer, but sales lagged in part because of the Blood Orange flavor which is an unusual choice. I guess Nick & Norman's will carry it since it is a Georgia product and also ties in with TWD theme. I bet if they named the Lucille beer "Daryl's Roadkill" or "Dixon Brothers Stout". it would sell a bit better than with Lucille. They could pull a line and license thorugh AMC so that every type of beer- IPA, Stout, lager, had some link to the show, and sell by single- select (build your own six-pack) or by "flights" (sampler) for collectors who would never open but only display it. (why do I have these ideas late at night?) Let's see: "Dixon Brothers Squirrel Nuts"- I'd craft a basic American-style beer to be my line's bestseller and discount slightly by the case. "The Governor's Blind Eye Brew"- a Mexican/Latin American style beer, lighter, less hoppy and built for seafood (fish tacos, ceviche, or steaks with chimichurri sauce) and spicy cuisines or just basic chips and guacamole. "Terminus Shot Report"- a hipster-appealing artisanal craft brew built around some gimmick like medieval-strain hops grown only on one German estate. To appeal to the Gareth in everyone. "Grimes' Python Steel"- a strong classic amber ale with a slightly higher than 30% alcohol. "Grady Lady Lollipop- insert Terrapin Blood Orange IPA here in honor of all that went down at Grady and in season 5 "Lucille's Thirsty: The Molasses stout released in February. I think just as with the Blood Orange, many will try it once, but will they continue to buy it regularly? Wonder how much AMC made off of the licensing of the beers?
