I'm sure TPTB are thrilled with today's Forbes article. "NFL, 'Walking Dead' Light Up Social Media On Sunday Nights" "Between Sunday Night Football and The Walking Dead, Sunday isn't quite so scary for TV executives, as it is by far the biggest night for social engagement around television. 43% of weekly Facebook and 33% of weekly Twitter activity around TV this fall occurred before the start of the work week... ...If advertisers are placing money based on the buzziest shows, they should consider buying spots during AMC's The Walking Dead, Fox's Empire, FX's American Horror Story and NBC's The Voice. These shows, the top four in terms of average social interaction, are also among the highest-rated series on television. The Walking Dead, which garners an average of 3.2 million interactions across Facebook and Twitter per episode, draws the largest audience in the 18-49 demographic outside of sports. With an average of 1.1 social engagements per episode, Empire consistently ranks as the top show of its night in terms of viewers, and American Horror Story, which garnered 460,000 interactions per episode, saw an average ratings boost over the previous season. The Voice was the highest-rated reality series last fall, which explains its 440,000 social interactions per episode. In terms of particular moments, The Walking Dead reigned supreme, with Glenn's death during its season premiere drawing 936,000 social TV interactions. Saturday Night Live had TV's top comedy moment when 92,000 took to social media to react to Kate McKinnon's cold opener as Hillary Clinton following the election.." link.
