Peter Zimmerman plays Eduardo of Hilltop.
"...How did you land the role of Eduardo?
How did you land the role of Eduardo?Landing the role of Eduardo was just like any other taped audition. I was actually pretty close to the deadline in turning the audition in which made me kind of nervous, but somehow ended up getting a call back, and then called back for a third audition. All of them were on tape and I knew it was for The Walking Dead but they gave me a fake character name so it wasn’t until I actually showed up on set for wardrobe that I found out who I was playing. This has literally been the most exciting experience of my life, and it is still an adventure for me.
Were you a The Walking Dead fan before landing the role?
I was not a fan of the show because I had never seen the show before. All of my friends watched it and I heard about it everywhere I went, especially here in Georgia since it films here, but it was one of those I didn’t want to watch because I knew I would get hooked on it, and at the time, my time was really limited. When I found out that I booked the role I binge watched the whole show, and now I can honestly say I am a huge fan of The Walking Dead! I am a fan of the comics and the show.
...Was there any funny or memorable behind the scene moments you experienced?
There have been so many funny moments it’s hard to keep track LOL. One that I can recall off the top of my head is the scene where Xander Berkley “Gregory” throws Lauren Cohan “Maggie” the apple, and the amount of times we had to film that exchange because either the throw was off or Maggie couldn’t catch the darn apple – – LOL. We had some fun laughing about that for hours. I also remember while having lunch with Lauren she was trying to pressure me into eating a cookie right after I told her that I eat very clean. She kept getting it in front of me and acting like it was delicious and then pushing it towards me so that I would take a bite. I never did, but I was dying to eat the infamous apple. hahaha..."
