From that list I've seen The Lobster, Arrival, The Witch, Loving, and Moonlight. I'd definitely put those on my best list so far, but I'd add Nocturnal Animals, Green Room, and Tallulah up there too.
I want to see Silence, Hidden Figures, Paterson, La La Land, Manchester By The Sea (which I'm seeing tomorrow) American Honey, Jackie.
I just can't understand all the praise for Elle. Just reading the outline of that movie, it's so rapey. I don't think I could ever sit through it.

Honestly I haven't seen any of them and probably will only watch Pete's dragon and Loving. Pete's dragon because it was a childhood favorite and Loving because from all reports it is very well written, acted, directed and shies away from the typical doe eyed romanticism comparable movies use.
I am surprised Free State of Jones did not make this list. If you haven't seen that one and the trope is your cup of tea I highly recommend it.

I wasn't a fan of The Free State of Jones. It was a bit lacking for me.
Manchester by the Sea..I can't. I get why someone might like this movie but it was ao dull.
