This topic is one in which only what we like about Daryl Dixon should be posted. There are plenty of topics and posts covering what fans feel is disappointing or wrong with Daryl, so let's balance that out with remembering or posting what we like about Daryl.( urdeadtome , webergal ) 1) I like Daryl's no-nonsense, pithy comments throughout the seasons whether calling Lori Olive Oyl or reminding Andrea to observe the signs of massacre around her in the deleted scene from season 2 when Rick's group sought shelter with the Vatos.

Aww Man?! Are you being serious Ripley? You know there's not enough room here for me to post everything I love about this man! Unfortunately, it really may just be me and webergal posting back and forth with our in depth admiration for Mr. Dixon (ugh..I actually really hated when Beth called him that in "Still" so..scratch that!) There literally are so many things I can list about him that my head is spinning a little trying to find the most important or affecting traits to me? The bottom line is that there are a lot of parts to Daryl that I can relate to on a personal level. His insecurities and self doubt. His never feeling like he is good enough compared to others and the feelings of guilt or blaming himself over things he feels responsible for or that he can't even necessarily control; just feeling like he should have done "better" in most situations. In spite of all of these negative feelings about himself, he has a huge heart and is loyal to a flaw, especially to those he's come to love and trust within his circle of Team Family. I am very much the same way in that I have a huge heart and consider myself a very emotional person, but I don't always openly share the emotion unless I feel I can trust someone. It's always right underneath the surface but I very much internalize things until I can't hold onto it any more. Like after Beth died and Carol told him that "he had to let himself feel it" or it would never get better. These are the things I relate to with him and are the things that make me feel really appreciative and protective of his character at the same time! Like you Ripley, I've always loved the smart ass remarks and the tell it like it is attitude he has but it's his fearless nature and bravery despite all of his insecurities that makes him a marvel to me. And when it's protecting his family and those he cares for, there are no limits to what he will do to take care of them and keep them safe. NR has described Daryl as a wild animal or a stray dog many times and I think that's a perfect comparison actually. With any stray animal that has possibly been neglected, abused or just ignored during their life is starved for just the slightest attention and love that someone is willing to give them and if you feed and care for them they will keep coming around and probably turn out to be the most loyal pet you'll ever have..because they appreciate it more and know what it is not to have that! That is Daryl! I've been really impressed over the years with what NR has done with Daryl up to this point and I think he should undoubtedly be commended for making this character what he is today. He probably has had to cry more than any other character the last few seasons so it's a good thing that the man who plays him is a self proclaimed "softie" as well and isn't afraid to pull that kind of emotion out of himself so effortlessly. (I think "real men" do cry and it's endearing to me when they can!) You knew this was gonna be long but I'll try to wrap it up here! Basically, I just feel this affinity for relatability to Daryl and there are probably a hundred more reasons I could name but it really comes down to this, he has my heart!

Please feel free to post as often and as much as y'all want here! I think Daryl's ability to see what is, and not what he wants to see or what should or could be, is a real asset to the group. Two examples: He knew what was going on with Shane and Lori and pointed out that Rick knew but didn'[t want to know even then. The second when Aaron remarked that Daryl knew how to spot a good man even though Rick did not always know. Keep the Daryl love flowing

The unconditional "Daryl lovers" group is kind of a small gathering here and I always welcome anyone who wants to become a part of it! It's always nice to have someone new to relate to in terms of the dedication and admiration I have for the man! So yeah, anytime you want to chat about our favorite guy in any capacity I'm here and happy to take part!

4. I loved the whole arc of Daryl's looking for Sofia in season 2. It was the story that showed that there was more to Daryl. And speech to Carol about the Cherokee Rose was beautiful and touching.

5. He's a man of honor Darn that was my post! 6. He's shown himself to be capable of change and growth. He's really come into his own in the awful time he's found himself in. It's more than just being "muscle" or a skilled hunter (though those skills certainly helped him to survive. He's become the person he was always capable of, even though he might never have known it otherwise.

Another unconditional Daryl lover here I love that he is made of the finest fabric there is,but his edges are all raw. I love his contradictions. A rough redneck that knows spiritual storys and picks flowers. A skilled, graceful, smooth hunter that acts like a bull in a china shop regarding matters of the heart. He is smart, observant and often 3steps ahead of everyone else, but his hot temper can ruin this advantage in a heartbeat. HE IS PRECIOUS and I have to thank Norman for bringing this amazing character to life

13. He always wants to help people no matter if they are family or complete strangers, like the family in the car in season 3 when he went of with Merle.

I appreciate the mercy he showed Dale in season two with his "sorry brother" after Dale implored with his eyes to be put down instead of suffering more.
