Here are the 22 animated films that have been submitted for the Oscars.
Angry Birds Movie (US) April & The Extraordinary World (France) Finding Dory (US) Ice Age: Collision Course (US) Kubo and the Two Strings (US) Kung Fu Panda 3 (US) The Little Prince (France) Long Way North (France/Denmark) Miss Hokusai (Japan) Moana (US) Mune: Guardian of the Mune (France) My Life as a Zucchini (Switzerland) Phantom Boy (France) Ratchet & Clank (Canada/US) The Red Turtle (France/Japan) Sausage Party (US) The Secret Life of Pets (US) Sing (US) Storks (US) Trolls (US) Your Name (Japan) Zootopia (US)

The Annie Award nominations are out. These are for animated films and usually give us a good look at who's going to be in the Oscar race. I think the Oscar five will be The Red Turtle, Zootopia, Kubo and the Two Strings, My Life as a Zucchini, and Finding Dory. Strangely, as much as I loved Dory, I'm not sure she'll make the cut. Bes t Animated Feature Finding Dory Kubo and the Two Strings Kung Fu Panda 3 Moana Zootopia Best Animated Feature - IndependentLong Way North Miss Hokusai My Life As A Zucchini The Red Turtle Your Name. I really liked Deadpool but that getting a Globe nom over The Nice Guys is all sorts of bullshit. That was easily the best comedy this year.
Someone on Twitter made realize something last night, after Ryan Reynolds was named Entertainer of the Year at the Critics Choice...Hollywood really worked hard to make Reynolds happen. He's gorgeous and has charisma, but he's never been the greatest actor and he's had a lot more huge misses than hits. Why did they put so much effort into him?

I guess he makes people feel comfortable or smarter than he is?
This is going to be a tough Golden Globes for me with so many of my favorites competing: Rami Malek and Bob Odenkirk, Catriona Balfe v Lena Headey v Thandie Newton and many more.

That's why Lady Gaga wins for AHS, and why people like Tom Cruise and John Travolta are nominated for things like Tropic Thunder and Hairspray. They nominated a Trolls song this year because Justin Timberlake wrote it. Everything should've been in Hopkins favor.

I'm looking forward to Golden Globes this Sunday.
However there is this ... Detroit Lions are playing Seahawks in wild card round at 8:15. There will be channel flipping going on.
Stranger Things going up against This is Us for best drama. I've seen both and they are both TERRIFIC!

Oh I so agree ... his self aggrandizing speech was partly the reason later winners got the 'cue to quit' too early IMO. Jimmy Fallon was a 'no show' IMO - he couldn't handle the teleprompter issue??? Puhleez! He's a comedian for cripe's sake - he have dug into his repertoire. Kristin Wiig and Steve Carell - priceless! I was surprised as well. Not only who/what won/didn't win but Brad Pitt's appearance as presenter. Anyone who hasn't seen La La Land had to feel a bit like those who hadn't seen The Artist a few years ago. Ruth Negga's dress was gorgeous.
