I've watched Pivot since 2014 and will miss my favorite network when it shuts down on 10/31/16. Designed for & by millennials, Pivot ran social justice documentaries, reruns of BYVS, Farscape, Friday Night Lights, plus many great films. Series included Please Like Me, 1000 Days for The Planet, Capitol, and Human Resources.
I learned so much from the network in 2 years of TV. I'm smarter, better educated and uplifted from the programming.
Pivot fell victim to its target audience not being willing to pay for cable - whomp womp. So it ends 10/31/16. Such a shame-tv the way it is supposed to be-entertaining, educational, inspiring. Bye Pivot!

If cable had a la carte, they might not have so many subscribers cutting the cord entirely.

Agreed reckon It is also probably can't not just won't for the target group. Pivot had an ongoing beoefite to help the not dry Colorado River which used to flow to the sea until development and growth of key large cities took all the water. Pivot users and viewers got together and restored over 3 million gallons of water to the river through conservation and money raising pledges matched by major corporations. Documentaries such as Food Inc, A Place at The Table highlight the problem with American food insecurity and of course SIcko was show many times as well. I loved that a network would tackle so many social issues - poverty, hunger, LBGT, racism, agesism, politics, discrimination etc without the sorts of reprisals which limit that reporting on the major networks. October must be my month for moving on in many ways.

I couldn't sleep so I'm watching Pivot's last broadcast film, Good Night and Good Luck, with a great cast and directed by George Clooney. At 6, Pivot goes off the air.

The screen went black on Pivot at 6 am the last thing broadcast with the credits of NGAGL was a montage thanking viewers for all their activism and a reminder that each person can make a difference. great way to go out!
