"...Is season seven as big as it looks? Payne: ...“This season, you're seeing that there's another place called The Kingdom coming in. The show is expanding and you're not just with that one group. There are these other groups that can be explored, and how they're then going to interact with each other now they're aware of each other. For Rick obviously that's a huge deal, that changes how him and his group have been living the past few years and I think it's going to be interesting to see how that changes the dynamic of the show, and people's feelings about the world that they're now living in.” ..You mentioned your role has more action this season Payne: "...“I think aside from Morgan and his stick, Jesus is the only other majorly physically capable character in that sense. Whenever there's a big fight in the show it ends up being a big scrap, wrestling around in the mud and I think Jesus is much more calculated, and capable of dealing with people in more efficient way. You could see a bit more of that next season. Jesus has an on/off relationship with a guy called Alex in the comics. Will he have a love interest in the new series? Payne: “I don't see any reason why he wouldn't follow the comic books… and actually I think there'd be more outrage if it didn't follow the comic books. So possibly in the future, yeah.” Read more at www.nme.com/blogs/nme-blogs/the-walking-deads-tom-payne-season-seven-is-a-turning-point-for-the-show-qa#FKdqkWQqEivmmvE2.99

Tom Payne really is pretty I'm glad he grew out his beard. That thing on his face last season was hideous.

Whenever I see these recent interviews, I just get super sad. It's like GoT in reverse. Instead of storylines intersecting, I'm worried TF will continue to drift further and further apart into their own tangential storylines. Nothing against TP and Jesus, but I don't like what's implied by "turning point." Once we've got all these communities up and running, the days of the farm and the prison really are dead and buried. We'll prob never get TF all in one location again.

I think it's exactly like you say: the show is clearly trying to expand in hopes that we attach to new characters so the old ones can leave and/or be reduced - the whole "breathe new life" strategy. I can't think of a serialized drama where this has worked aside from procedurals, and it's hard for me to imagine that this will go over well in this case either.

As TWD really really wants to be GOT. I think SG is doing all these communities at once because he is hoping the TWD audience will be the same as the GOT audience, were they embrace the new locations / new characters. But the big difference being that GOT has being doing those kind of stories since the begining and the stories / characters are written better.
