AMC is flagging videos that use not only episode clips in their reviews but also images and audio. Clips of episodes, I understand but is this a case of AMC cutting off its nose to spite its face? I would think they'd want all of the promotion they can get. Ripley

with the ratings down for both shows and the critics not giving either any love, AMC is looking for someone to blame. You know because it couldn't possibly be the writing or anything... good find Sexual Chocolate

I heard even Ronny Haze is getting videos taken fown for "unlawful distribution of copyrighted materials", a catch phrase very dear to AMC's heart.

My apologies Sexual Chocolate , for not watching the video when you posted it. It was quite late where I live & I was headed to sleep. . Ive watched it now & there are discussions I've seen in several places about this issue. AMC cracking down in this way indicates many bad things-are sites going to be checked for screencaps and homemade tribute video clips next I wonder? rayonisrayon be next hid a still shot or two in his videos? How much of this, if any, is due to Haze's criticisms of season 6? Some of the sudden crackdown is the result of the recent spoilers fallout IMO; we'll see how AMC continues to proceed as we get closer to s 7. edit: the fact that even reaction videos using only audio are also being pulled down and revenue collected is worrisome to me. I think Haze may not understand that AMC isn't as hesitant to start litigation as he believes. I think his biggest problem is the possibility of getting sued by AMC more than a possible strike against his video channel account . AMC seems determined to try & control word of mouth which is counter to all fandom interests -good luck with that.

Yes, AMC is getting totally ridiculous and greedy.
First place, they're getting free advertising whether folks talk about the show, or pass along video clips, screen caps, etc. Nobody wants to listen to a review of the show without some kind of photos, clips, etc.
Biting off their noses to spite their face is an understatement !!

I agree AMC is being a porchdick but that ronnie haze is a joke , i liked him at first but when he started with the abraham pic;s and said that chris tillman[sp] was abe i knew the dude was a joke.

Ripley When he said something about AMC not suing him I was like good luck with that. vixen Ronny's hit or miss with me. Where people think I criticize the show too much, I think he gives it too much credit, especially the writing.

Rayon's Season 7 trailer reaction video already is blocked by AMC in some places. I assumed it was a one off that just got caught cuz it uses so much of the trailer, but with the FTWD videos, it kind of adds to a narrative. Oh, AMC. Extra shitty part of it is that they've encouraged reactionary videos in the past, encouraged discussion on YouTube in the past, for marketing promotion. They're having a little tantrum now, I guess.

I believe some of what we are seeing AMC doing right now is the result of some of the spoilers action in recent months. I think AMC has decided to take on the challenges and remove/shut down/sue when it suits them, more aggressively than ever before IMO. I also think in coming months we will see more spoiler sites get hassled by AMC after one site posted often and loudly about posting major spoilers for 7.01.
Every site has a particular style and the styles of all the sites differ a great deal. This is noting differences, not a criticism of any site per se. I do think that quiet discretion is the style which suits this particular site and will continue.
I believe AMC is going to come after all spoiler sites though after recent challenge/being called out by one site in the national and global media. All sites will have to deal with the consequences of that site's choice of actions IMO sadly.

Damn AMC are being petty as hell. Its no ones fault other than their's and the writers/ producers on TWD /FTWD that the show are aren't good. Them trying to shift the blame for their products being not great makes them look bad...and widers the growing division between core fans and the show.

I hope this doesn't impact the lovely shipping videos fans make. There is nothing spoilery in those, as most use images from episodes that have already aired. If anything, those videos provide incentive for viewers to re-watch multiple episodes and keep the show top-of-mind.

I think it just depends on how far and wide AMC decides to go- the parody video I just posted was fantastic and the voiceover at the end either imitated Andrew Lincoln's voice perfectly and then added on, or else they used some audio, which we know AMC has taken down videos for in the past and claimed the income generated.

"FeartheFairUse" is trending now. In this new video, Ronny Haze explains why he will not be reviewing Fear the Walking Dead any longer.
I like Ronny's videos. He has a tendency to repeat himself but he is a good speaker and is a fair reviewer IMO. He is my go to person for understanding the comic material.
