Oh fun. The mini-series this year seemed more like a nostalgic trip than a coherent story. Hope they offer a more cohesive story in the next round.

I hope they can do it. One critic alt TCA said yesterday the network says they would defer to Chris Carter when disagreements arose in future. I thought it was Tim Goodman, but I can't find thtweet so it may have been someone else . Let me try Deadline Twitter feed.

Gillian is busy with a new series so we may have to wait some time for another kick at the can.

Yes, she is , so 2018 may be the earliest we can expect more X-Files, but that is if they can lock everyone in for 2017-18 production right now.

Wi tee TCAs 2017 update "...After Fox’s executive session, Madden told us he wanted to have a reveal ready for Wednesday’s event, but any deals weren’t quite done. Fox is looking to have more than the shortened, six-episode season that was ordered for last year’s revival … but also cautioned that its order won’t be as large as a traditional 22-episode broadcast series. Most likely, The X-Files will return in 2018, the executive noted..." link

That dumbass Chris Carter doesn’t write any episodes in this new season. His writing in the revival was horrible.

We are getting an audio-book! "David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson Are Returning to The X-Files Again—This Time, in an Audiobook Mulder and Scully are making another return from the TV-dead to solve crimes—only this time, it won’t be on the small-screen. On Monday, Audible Studios announced that iconic X-Files duo David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson would reprise their roles for an audiobook of Joe Harris’ graphic novels, and that original series creator Chris Carter is confirmed to helm the new production. Titled X-Files: Cold Cases, the audiobook will explore events between the 2008 movie I Want to Believe and the 2016 revival series (which was pretty uneven, save for that great third episode). A teaser released by Audible finds the franchise’s creative team eager to get back into the world yet again, promising “the exact same thing” for diehard fans and teasing the involvement of other favorites, including supporting stars Dean Haglund and Mitch Pileggi. And if that’s not enough anticipation for you, Audible has also released an excerpt of Cold Cases, to give you an idea of what a sound-only X-Files experience will be like. It’s a good one, too, with a palpable sense of danger and suspense and some juicy details of what exactly the production will explore...." link

The X-Files Renewed for 10-Episode (!!) Season 11 at Fox — First Look Even better, the episode order for the revival’s continuation is 10, four more than the six-episode Season 10. Series creator Chris Carter will executive-produce the season, and stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson have signed on to return as Mulder and Scully, as well. The “event series” — Fox’s words — will air during the 2017-2018 season. Production is slated to begin this summer. At the Television Critics Association press tour in August, Fox Television Group CEO and chairman Dana Walden told reporters that the network would’ve liked to have more than six episodes in the sci-fi series’ initial revival. “It was really the limitations of David and Gillian and Chris’ schedules… It was just trying to coordinate a time where they all carve out a period to be in Vancouver,” where the drama shoots. link

Ripley, I thought of tagging one of you after I closed out of everything last night and then got an early call this morning to head to work. Actually I believe I could have edited the title since I started the post. Duh on me! Anyway good title!
