..The Walking Dead: Jeffrey Dean Morgan is swearing up a storm as Negan in season 7 by Dalton Ross | July 29 2016 — 12:00 PM EDT "There are certain curse words you may hear Jeffrey Dean Morgan utter as Negan in season 7 of The Walking Dead. There are a few others you may eventually bear witness to when the Blu-ray/DVD sets come out. But there are about a million others taking place on set during filming of the AMC zombie drama, and the only ones lucky enough to see and hear them are the cast and crew of the show. Morgan has been ensuring that high-octane Negan is always present and accounted for by unleashing a seemingly never-ending stream of profanity during takes. EW was down on the set in Senoia, Georgia, and saw it first hand. Morgan usually gets plenty of PG-13 takes under his belt and then lets it rip, making sure the characters he is sharing scenes with feel the full impact of Hurricane Negan and what they are up against. “We push it as far as what I can and can’t say,” Morgan explains. “I’ll throw in s—s and hells and Jesus Christs and Goddamns everywhere I can, but even that there’s a limit to. Then they turn me loose. Someone will say, ‘Okay, it’s time.’ That’s all I need to know. That’s when I just go f—ing nuts and I’ll add all the f—s and all the original Negan language. So I memorize it two ways: I learn what’s okay for TV and then I learn the Negan way, which is nothing barred. And I will add every f—, f—ing, f—edy f—, and more, just to f—ing get a reaction.” link

This is why I love JDM for this part. I really think he'll make a great Negan.

Thanks for posting Ripley! It's amazing to me how much language continues to be regulated on tv as people getting the flesh on their face ripped off is perfectly acceptable, but ah well. As much as I like JDM, I'm much, much more interested in the actual, main characters. I feel like the fact there are zero comments on this article (when EW articles on TWD usually get quite a few) also says something too

JDM is a great actor. If S7 sucks, it won't be his fault.

I agree with y'all that the European model for TV ( sex is fine, violence is censored) vs the Americsl model (language, no thrust, violence five) is really highlighted in the show. I too, prefer to delve into Negan's character beyond his being defined by all the "fuckity fucks", or reading endless debates on how many fucks, placement of said fucks or having a DVD difference of language .
Hoping we get more than used car salesman + whose wife died. After all every ZAsurvivor has lost family/friends by this point after the outbreak. So what makes Negan such a speshul snowflake that he turns into uber-villain when others have not. Glad we'll be getting some insights into Negan & The Sanctuary.

I'm sorry I don't get the big thing about Negan swearing. Negan not being able to swear shouldn't factor into JDM performance. He should be able to play Negan no matter what.
