Heads up: During gymnastics, track & field, and swimming my time here will be limited. I'm a whore for the olympics.

I used to be a whore for the Summer Olympics but I lost interest after the last time for some reason. I may catch some gymnastics and diving. Still a Winter Olympics whore though. Love that figure skating and ski jumping!

Love that figure skating and ski jumping! Yeah, I need to add diving to my list. Admittedly, I'm less excited about this Olympics compared to earlier years but I'm hoping I'll get back into it by the end of the parade of nations. I was lucky enough to go to the Vancouver Olympics and see the women's figure skating finals live. I was so happy I could've peed myself.

greaterpursuit Yeah, it's everything you'd think it would be. We sat between groups of fans from China and Japan, and had a blast. Everyone was cheering on their favorites but without any of the rudeness found in every day "American" sports arenas.

I'd love to go to a Winter games-I'd be everywhere and watching all the events. Lucky you to be there to witness the history being made plus feel the crowd spirit & support for the athletes.

Heads up: During gymnastics, track & field, and swimming my time here will be limited. I'm a whore for the olympics. I hear ya! I'm glued to those sports as well as soccer and basketball. USA Men didn't make the cut for soccer but I'll be cheering the women on.

See I don't know how much to believe about the problems. Do I think they're some major issues? Absolutely, but I wonder if the media is piling on just to pile on. I'm on the West Coast so I'm going to have to depend heavily on online feeds not to get spoiled with results. I swear my sleep will be compromised for two-weeks but I don't care. I love this shit.

I notice the golfers backed out due to Zika concerns since they spend the most time outdoors at a stretch . The NYT had a great in-depth look at the water venue issues. I'm quite curious to learn more about conditions in Rio. I think having the summer Games permanently in Greece would be a great homage and a boost of tourist dollars for their troubled economy. My favorite are the Winter Games though, so I'll look for updates from y'all here.

After reading about bodies washing up on shore near some water revenues, I figured I'd take a pass on any water sports not happening in a chlorinated pool.
