Share the films you're most looking forward to in this thread!
After seeing the trailer for La La Land, that's easily found it's way on my "must watch" list, personally.

@dark sister, I loved Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling n Crazy, Stupid Love. This looks wonderful. Ripley , a good King Arthur movie sets my toes tingling. Hope it lives up to it. I adored the film Excalibur from many years ago, even though I think if I watched it now I would cringe.

Another film, Loving will come out in November and seems extra important with everything that's been going on in the United States lately. Plus, it's directed by Jeff Nichols, who's absolutely amazing.

Another film with strong reviews out of TIFF, also Ewan McGregor's directorial debut. I haven't read the book, but I'll definitely be seeing this one now as well.

I'm looking forward to Sully starring Tom Hanks. I watched the real life event unfold on CNN in real time so I'm interested to see how they badly they interpret what really happened.

Have you seen it? We are going on Saturday. I think the bullk of the story in the movie takes place after the plane lands and the investigation.

Boy ^^^ this one hits home. I used to be a newspaper reporter and did the light, fluff, feel-good human interest features. One day I was asked to cover a funeral where five children were killed in a house fire set by their aunt. I told the editor I didn't think it was anyone's business to witness the grief and he told me it sold papers. So I left and became an elementary school teacher shortly after. Never regretted it.
Looks like pretty heavy film. This is based on a true story? I don't remember it.

Hearing them say "if it bleeds, it leads" reminded me of the recent film Nightcrawler (which was amazing) that went by the same mantra. It makes sense though, morbid curiosity always gets the better of everyone.

We saw Sully last night. Wonderful movie and I admit to crying at some points, it was so emotional for me.
I did some research afterwards and it turns out the investigation wasn't as contentious as portrayed; but the movies needed an antagonist.
Footage from the actual event and a visit with Sully and some of the survivors at the end.

I'm really looking forward to Loving, Midnight, and Christine. When I first heard Loving was being made, I wondered how they would handle the age difference. Mildred was underage and Richard was considerably older. I guess they're going to skip that part.

There was a Stephen King marathon on last night and I watched the six-hour mini-series of The Stand. That is my all-time most loved Stephen King novel, followed by Dead Zone. Today I was exploring the internet and excited to discover a remake is in the works. Hope it comes to fruition. I can't wait to see who they get to play Flagg, Stu, Larry, Nadine, Harold, Tom, and Nick. So many wonderful characters in that story. Best book cover ever!

The Stand is my all time favorite SK novel. Don't have an accurate count as to how many times I've read it. Rubbing my hands together in glee that is finally going to happen. sometime. eventually.

www.ew.com/article/2016/10/15/kristen-stewart-certain-women-wins-bfi-london-film-festivals-best-filmI want to see " Certain Women"
"The 60th BFI London Film Festival announced its winners Saturday, with Certain Women, starring Kristen Stewart and Michelle Williams, named the Official Competition Winner — Best Film."If you click on the link, there is a link for a 3-minute trailer. I'm going to like this movie. Kristen Stewart has moved waaaay beyond Twilight Franchise. Her acting chops are very good. Before Twilight, there was P anic Room with Jodie Foster and Speak in which she was rape survivor. Great acting in both of those films. But since Twilight - she's doing really good things.

If you read it, get the later edition- it has passages and scenes added back in which were cut in the original edition's editing. Some things were changed as well, and I've read both, but preferred the version King wrote best which is the latter one IMO. Sexual Chocolate

That link had interesting information. I didn't realize this was going on...a lot of morphing...I will take whatever they give and it sounds like this new director has quality and integrity of the story in his heart. Three hours does seem short, however....it is such an epic and wide-sweeping tale. That is probably because after I heard 8-episode TV series I was ecstatic. I guess that has been tabled.

In other movie news, Sony apparently has zero faith in their Jumanji movie because they moved its release date to the week after Star Wars Episode VIII.
