Posting this because it indicates that Georgia may be getting even more film and TV business as California's once-model tax incentive program for entertainment is leaving Indie Producers & their projects in the cold. Bravekat and dark sister, please feel free to move this topic should you feel it is a better fit elsewhere. "California’s expanded film incentives program has been great at helping to stem the flow of runaway production but not so great for independent film and TV producers. Indeed, many indie producers are not happy with the new program at all. “Indie producers are frustrated,” said Dama Claire, an incentives specialist at EP Financial Solutions. “While the state has a very good program, the bulk of the money is allocated to the major studios and to television shows returning from out of state, which is not the indie market.” Up until a year ago, when the state still was holding a lottery to determine who would get the subsidies, indie producers were guaranteed at least 10% of the $100 million in tax incentives. As it turned out, through the luck of the draw, they got more than that. In fiscal 2013, they were allocated $17.5 million; they received $13.7 million in fiscal 2014; and last year they got $11.2 million..." link

I'm sure Georgia and other places will be happy to step up and help out indie film and TV producers. That may actually help the quality of indies. Diversity supports health.

I think it's good here. I'm glad Georgia is a bit of a hot spot for filming right now. With the right Cinematographer, you can make GA look like anywhere in the U.S if you want, minus notable land marks. (See Prisoners. That film was shot in GA, but Roger Deakins made it look like Pittsburgh)
