For anyone who has been waiting ... it's finally here! Four long years and the reviews are great.
This is from Goodreads:
In "The Passage" and "The Twelve", Justin Cronin brilliantly imagined the fall of civilization and humanity's desperate fight to survive. Now all is quiet on the horizon but does silence promise the nightmare's end or the second coming of unspeakable darkness? At last, this bestselling epic races to its breathtaking finale.
"The world we knew is gone. What world will rise in its place?"
The Twelve have been destroyed and the hundred-year reign of darkness that descended upon the world has ended. The survivors are stepping outside their walls, determined to build society anew and daring to dream of a hopeful future.
But far from them, in a dead metropolis, he waits: Zero. The First. Father of the Twelve. The anguish that shattered his human life haunts him, and the hatred spawned by his transformation burns bright. His fury will be quenched only when he destroys Amy – humanity's only hope, the Girl from Nowhere who grew up to rise against him.
One last time light and dark will clash, and at last Amy and her friends will know their fate.

I have just finished The Passage and The Twelve. Amazing books and now I am reading last one "City of Mirrors". It takes commitment (and free time) to read all three of them but they're filled with some many individual stories that are all woven together to create this terrifying but love filled universe. All eyes.

All eyes. I agree it does take commitment and time to read all three but well worth the effort. I was absolutely hooked when I read The Passage. The All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness are also satisfying reads - Discovery of Witches is the first in that Trilogy.

rosieI finished "City of Mirrors" last night. There was so many wonderful parts of all three books. I absolutely loved Anthony Carter and there was this happy theme that the afterlife allows those who pass on to spend eternity with those they loved in this life. I was lucky enough to just download all three books at one time. So I didn't have to wait between books. I might try Discovery of Witches.

Anthony was one of my favorite characters and of course Amy - we'd been with her since the beginning. I read an interview with Justin Cronin. He said one weekend he and his 8 year old daughter had a conversation where they shared ideas - they continued to talk as she grew older and eventually "The Passage" was pulled together based on their shared ideas.
