Oh my my my, I'm such a sucker aka horn dawg for Norman/Daryl that I'll take all of the looks for 500 Alex <333 lmao Alright, so if I had to choose, I liked looks 4A and 4B but if my finger was threatened into an electrical socket and I'm absolutely forced to choose, it'd be 5A, and 6A. Crossbow to my head forced to choose then 3A and 3B. See what I did there Ripley, I adore this man, you have noooo idea what this thread has done to me this morning *starts sweating* Edited: The only changes I would make his hair look less greasy and more noticable that Daryl does actually shower and I would go back to his S1 hair color. I'm now going to go drool for the rest of the day, thank you

LOL. Thank you for pulling me into an all-important discussion of Daryl Dixon's hair (and other stuff, I guess), Ripley. It is an important topic. My vote was for 2b, but, more generally, I'd say season 2 on a whole was his best year. Focusing to start on the hair, while 2b brought about the first (not entirely comprehensible) dye job of "darkness", the colour chosen looked natural and brought not with it the unfortunate appearance of anemia that later season hues have supplied as it wasn't too dark, matched his skin tone, and matched his facial hair. The cut was... a cut, which Daryl was clearly capable of having back then, as evidenced by his short hair to start the series. Notably in that regard, the cut didn't scream "hey, look, teens girls... he's emo!" (a la season 3 and beyond) but rather "I like being able to see because peripheral vision is important when one is tracking or hunting or generally trying not to die by walker". A not particularly stylized short cut is what makes sense for Daryl and thus of course what we have not seen since season 2. Sequencing the seasons in general for hair, I'd say the order is 2, 1 (a little too short and blonde for me), 3(too stylized emo but at least still functional), progressively worsening unwashed dark mop of emo sadness housing the tiny village of a group of small animal survivors (i.e. 4, 5, 6). Season 2 and 3 win for clothes, with season 1 coming in closely behind, as Daryl still remembered how to change his (more than one pair of pants... shocking!) and didn't, as people generally don't, feel the need to sport a leather vest 24/7.

Iam going to say 2b. In season 2b Daryl almost looked clean lol. I like the short hair better and I wish that tptb would stop dying Norman's hair. Why can't we get a clean Daryl for once, lol. I'd like to see a shorter haired and slightly cleaner Daryl for season 7.

If seasons 1-4A Daryl was clean, I don't understand the need to make him look like a possum carcass that's been stuck in tar for 5 years once they got to Alexandria and he made a friend lol Just one of the many things about this show that needs answering

MorganBGone, "the unfortunate look of anemia" rotflmao Truest thing I've read today. That dark hair was just awful I have to admit... even though I did still drool over him inspite of my horror. Don’t judge me lol

I thought he was attractive in season 2a/b and 3a. Season 1 you got the man boobs...not totally a turn off. ( I wasn't really a fan of season 1 asshole daryl) starting in three b he started to look like he was wearing a hair helmet and the dye job was getting out of control. By season 4 the hair helmet turned into muskrat love and while I know some find it attractive I didn't. I like long hair on a guy ( you should see my hubby) but between it always being filthy and his ears poking out like woodland creatures saying "hi"????? no thanks also as someone with long hair I can tell you it is not only hotter in the summer but having your hair hanging in your face does effect your ability to see at times. as for his clothes... honestly it's the ZA and while I get they can't be picky, you can't tell me he couldn't find ONE pair of extra pants in his size or a shirt that doesn't look like he's about to do a Hulk change. ( yes you are proud of your body, you worked hard for it BUT it looks fake AF with your buttons always straining. Please stop trying to fit into Carl's button down shirts. I don't wear clothes two sizes to small and neither should you) what I would change: let the dye fade out gradually so his hair goes back to a natural color (you know one that doesn't look like he's hoarding shoe polish) and would give him a hair cut. it doesn't have to be super short ( got to cover the receding hairline... I'll give him that much) but he needs to be able to see clearly and the critters nesting in his hair need to be set free. finally WASH YOUR FREAKING HAIR! A couple of changes of pants and shirts that fit would be nice. Having him occasionally shower would be good too. I would also encourage him to speak in complete sentences and use his full words but that is a topic for another discussion. ( maybe his hair is alive and living off the part of his brain that controls speech? so not only are they dealing with walkers but an alien invasion) I get that DD has a certain "look" but I don't know that many rednecks ( and yes I know quiet a few in the south and up here) that would be ok with the stereotype he puts out there. Hell I live in a dry cabin and manage to keep not only myself but 4 grandsons (all 7 and under) cleaner than this grown man. If the women can maintain perfectly shaved pits and legs (oh look were did Daryl's arm pit hair go? ) and perfectly sculpted eyebrows, then DD can beat back that beast on his head. Ripley here you go.

He looks wayyyyyy better with the shorter non-dyed haired, and it doesn't make any sense for daryl's character to grow his hair out or dye it, his hair is not at all practical and Daryl doesn't care about looking like a rock star, maybe Norman does but not Daryl, so I really don't get why they won't cut it. Same with Carl wtf is with his hair. All the girls with longer hair at least have it tied back.

Daryl was top notch in every way back in season two. His ever darkening hair, constantly in his face and goofy outfit has become distracting (and doesn't do him any favors in terms of aging gracefully).
I miss the plaid shirts, the shorter lighter hair, country boy look. Prefer it much more than his biker get up.

Seriously?! I'm supposed to vote for ONE look? Do you realize what you're asking of me (you know me better than that Ripley!) but I will try to indulge you because we are all bored and waiting for filming to start right? Okay, you guys don't know how hard this is for me to narrow down! I love the whole evolution of Daryl's look over the past six seasons and I feel like his look has grown darker and more "camouflaged" just as his character has had to become over the course of the seasons..does that make sense? His hair and his clothes have gotten progressively darker and his hair has gotten longer as a means of surviving, not being seen as easily, that's the way I look at it anyway and personally I think he get's hotter and sexier every damn season so this is tough! I think the S1 and a lot of 2A's Daryl was still so angry and confrontational that it was hard to figure out whether he could blend in and even be a functional part of the group (not that I didn't want to take him off somewhere and "give him a good talking too"..not so much talking though..every time I saw him!) and then he started looking for Sophia and you realized that this beautiful angry man had a huge heart and this deep seated need to help people and that was it for me! I had loved and appreciated Reedus prior to the show, but that's when I fell head over heels for Daryl Dixon. So, if I'm choosing a starting point for when my lust and admiration for this man's overall presence (and smokin hotness) went into full blown "drool mode", it would have to be during 2B..there it is! Now you have to realize that once this worship started that it has just been a steady build for me over every season and so S3 (even though the hair wasn't my favorite at times) was even better than 2 because I've never not thought he looked amazing, but if I'm choosing the point/look where my thighs burst into flames at the sight of him, it would have to be when S4 started back?! Honestly, I have always dreamed of slamming NR or Daryl against a wall and having my way with him, but the look from 4A on has been smoldering and intriguing in a way that's just captivating for me. That combined with the evolution of his character becoming more open, accepting and softer, in his own way, has made him hotter than ever. I'm telling you, and as others have mentioned before, if we could just get one shower scene for him like Rick had just to prove that he has taken one since getting to Alexandria, I would feel a lot better about things, you know strictly for "character development"? Descriptive enough for you guys? You asked and this was a hard question! My love for Daryl is truly unconditional so no matter what he looks like, short and blonde to dark and long hair, sleeveless flannels to black shirts and leather vests, it's what in his heart that I love the most..but the package it comes in certainly helps!

The long hair never really bothers me but I do wonder how well he can see sometimes now that it's gotten so long! Any way he wears it is fine with me but I know that I can't stand mine to be in my face if I'm working out or doing anything remotely active especially when it starts getting hot down here in the Spring and Summer so I wonder if and how much it must bug him at times when filming since he can't get it out of his face?!

As the new stylist on the show, I would insist that he be naked when he came to see me and just to make sure he wasn't uncomfortable with it, I would do the same. Might be a little distracting at first, but I think it would end up working out well?

It isn't even the color of his hair.. it is his whole look that they have tried to stylize into something...biker? Not sure what...whereas in season 2 he just looked like a regular guywith sleeveless plaid shirts. Miss the shirts. Miss the look.
Maybe if he got the hair out of his eyes he could actually sneak up on Dwight for once. Right now Dwight is whooping his tracking butt.

There are these ones, too, Ripley: AMC could snap up the rights to them and sell them as Daryl merch... while marketing them on DD himself.

OK those are perfect! They could also market crossbow ones but the wings echoing the wings on the best- no more is needed. Now I am going to get myself back on topic and not hijack this thread anymore or else Sexual Chocolate will have to give me a warning My preference in Daryl's looks was in season 2 in terms of hair length and dress. I liked his story and dialogue too plus Chupacabra was a fantastic episode IMO.

As the new stylist on the show..just kidding, they should take one of these and just clip his bangs back, you know in that kind of "Bridget Bardot" kinda thing! He could finally see and I guarantee they would sell a million of these afterward. Maybe not the coolest look for Daryl but Lord have mercy, I for one want to be able to see those blue eyes of his again dammit!

Those things are awful and only certain kinds of guys can actually carry them off but as a general rule, I think they should be outlawed! God please don't do that to Daryl!
