I'm campaigning to get Josh McDermitt to come to the annual Mullet Toss in the spring - it's just before filming starts!

I like how the show is developing Eugene and how they are making him a stronger character. He is no longer the guy who did this

Even though Eugene didn't have much to do on the premiere. Him breaking down and crying into his hands is one of the more memorable scenes outside the gore deaths in the episode.
JMD was awesome.

It looks like Eugene may finally have some story of his own. What do you think will happen to him at the Sanctuary?

I really hope they don't try to break him because let's face it, it won't take much and it's something I definitely don't want to see. I want his terror to turn into anger, and for him to take down Negan from the inside. Let people underestimate him and then strike when they're not looking.

I agree that he will likley become angry and use that fuel his efforts and he will be underestimated which is always good too. After all, he's the smartest guy, right? I am counting on that level of brilliance to work itself out. i find the pervasive attitude of The Saviors so similar to rape in terms of how they break down people physically and emotionally through torture (Daryl), fear for loved ones (evrey community), physical beatings just to show they are in charge (Aaron, Richard, insert character name), threats of sexual .physical violence (Olivia with Negan, Rosita with Arat, the entire harem at The Sanctuary). The Svaiors truly give meaning to the old catch phrase "No one is safe" Finally on this show,.

Right now Eugene is going to be a very important person to Negan. due to his intelligence and his capabilities. So I reckon Eugene will be subjected to emotional and verbal abuse . but their won't be any physical violence. I reckon this is the story that will make Eugene as a character on the show....I also think he will be used as a sounding board for Dwight...

Eugene has changed in wonderful ways since we first met him; I think of him as having finally "grown up" in season 6-b when he became a survivor as he told Abraham. I agree he will get a lot of abuse from The Saviors and Negan, a lot of mind games and coercion to become one of them or continue working with them.
I am confident that Eugene can stay true to himself and has the strength to carry on under prisoner of war type stresses. Think of how long he kept up his deception with Abe's group about the cure being in Washington and scientists there waiting for him. Like Carol, Eugene can run a plausible deception for a long time without detection. He may be able to convince Negan too.

After seeing Eugene in promo for 7b.... I find myself interested in seeing him at Sanctuary. He might actually save episode 11.

I loved episode 11 and Eugene's story potential. As far as our core characters go, I've always loved Eugene, but Michonne was always #1. This episode skyrocketed him to that spot.
