Diana Gabaldon posted this on Facebook today: "The standalone ebook of "Virgins" (in which 19-year-old Jamie Fraser and his slightly older friend Ian Murray become young mercenaries in France, and discuss whether killing someone is a worse sin than getting laid) will be available on April 8th! (To keep you from losing your mind from excitement while waiting for the Season Two debut on April 9th. We are Thoughtful that way...) www.amazon.com/Virgins-Outlander-Novella-Kindle-Single-ebook/dp/B01BRFMCWU/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1457478702&sr=1-1&keywords=virgins+gabaldon(I'm Deeply Entertained to see that while not yet released, pre-orders have evidently made "Virgins" the "#1 (Amazon) Bestseller in War and Military Action Fiction." [It seems churlish to observe that there's no war going on, and while there _is_ a certain amount of fighting here and there, it isn't what you'd call military in nature. There _is_ a certain amount of sex, opium delusions involving naked female demons, carpet-smuggling, Torah-stealing, and one of the more unusual Jewish weddings ever attended by two Scottish male virgins. Truth in Advertising, I mean...]) This story about Ian and Jamie as young mercenaries in France, the Jewish wedding and the assorted adventures around virginity lost is once I have wanted to read for ages. Diana Gabaldon, aka "Herself" posts "daily lines" on Facebook with bits of her writing. If you are a fan, I think it is great to be able to read brief scenes and dialogues from the novel in progress, or the novellas like this one. I will be pre-ordering this even though as she said, there is no military action.
