What are your unpopular opinions about The Walking Dead?

Tara and Denise does nothing for me. I don't think it cute, sweet, or convincing. Just another plot device thrown together by tptb.

I miss the days -up until early s 4,- when the fandom was united and worked together, regardless of who shipped whom or did not ship at all. The days when we all worked with the call sheets to figure out the mysteries of filming. The days when most of the fandom did not splinter into us v them. I'm thrilled though that we have an island here where that mutual respect and humor still happen daily.

So since this is an unpopular opinion poll, I'm going to state mine that are unpopular not to rile people up, but maybe to provoke conversation:
1) Maggie is the most boring character to me of the original 6. While I think Lauren Cohan's acting is fine, her accent is really, really bad and all over the place and it annoys me often and I'm a northerner!
2) Christian Serratos is not a great actress. The last few episodes she has overacted so bad I've actually been embarrassed for her. She came off so strong against Eugene it was like she was a major bitch(which she's not) and when Abraham dumped her I found it hard to feel really sorry for her despite his being a mother dick due to her acting. Sorry, I know others feel differently but she didn't get this job from her acting(every guy who sees her says the same thing...She's hot)
3) I strongly dislike the whole shipping thing, and feel that people let it cloud their judgement on many things. I have also been outright shocked at the things fans say and do both to each other and the actors interfering with their ships. These are fictional tv characters, if you think someone's job or life should be invaded or ruined because someone ships differently than you then you have some serious mental issues. this is easily my #1 issue, but I don't know if it's an unpopular opinion but I know some people on our board have very strong shipping feelings and when I see that it influences everything else about the show for them(eg...when carol was rumored to kiss Tobin the internet blew up) it bugs me a bit.
4) Never been a fan of Carl's. Sorry. Whenever I hear it's "his story" I cringe. I don't hate him or anything, but I could care less.

- I have yet to understand the purpose of Tara even being on the show, other than TPTB think the fans need another female love connection.
- I like Eugene, but it seems like ever since Eugene finally told the truth about his non existent mission, that they just use him for prop humor lines.
- Aaron's male lover has been missing so often, heck, I can't even remember his name, and I don't care anyway !!
- I'm sick of TPTB always making Daryl seem like a dumb redneck. Not all Rednecks are dumb ! But I do wish they'd make Daryl comb his hair, or cut it, or at least wash it ! And has he ever changed clothes? If Daryl and Carol ever do get together, they're going to have to meet in the shower !!
- I loved Morgan before they brought him back on the show, but it seems like TPTB are just making him a prop. I really don't like this riff between Morgan and Carol, because right or wrong, I'm going to have to take Carol's side, and that doesn't necessarily mean that Morgan was wrong in his thinking.

Rick's head tilt throws me out of the moment. I love Rick, but I hate that AL does that all the time.

Sorry. Whenever I hear it's "his story" I cringe. I don't hate him or anything, but I could care less. I actually agree with all four of your unpopular TWD opinions !! I'm not sure where the word "shipper" even came from, but for years there has been fandom for movie or TV characters but eons ago we only heard of those who went bonkers for a male or female character from reading the gossip rag magazines where a fan was reported as literally stalking somebody in real life, or a real life couple broke up because one of them fell in love with a co-star. Now we have tools for social media, and a camera in every pocket, where everybody can voice their opinion online, and oh boy what a fire storm. My sister and I were just talking about this on the phone last night. She watched the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie, I didn't and wasn't interested, but she was telling me the fandom are going totally bonkers because some fans believe the female actress in the movie is trying to break up the marriage of the male actor and his real life wife. I often wonder if an actor or actress begs the show to please just kill their character off just so the fandom will leave them alone. Yet there are others who have the ability to embrace the fandom, and even market it. I can only imagine what goes on in the writer's room trying to decide if they should go with the shipper crowd, or follow the graphic novel fans, or the TV fan base, or who they should kill off, or keep, or what's going to piss off the fandom depending on whatever direction they go.

Shane was never that interesting to me. He wasn't a bad character and he was a good foil for Rick, but other then that, he was incredibly meh.

I'm not 100% sure if Maggie will be able to carry the Hilltop story on her own.

I think Chandler is not that great of an actor. He has a few good moments but has more bad. I think that is why they don't use him that much. I hate Andy's head tilt I think it so weird and takes me out of the scene. Not a big fan of Michonne. I just don't see what all the fuss is about with her. Maybe one day she will grow on me.

There was a deleted scene from season 2 with Carl and Beth in it. If you have never seen it you need to. One of the most cringe worthy scenes I have ever seen and really goes to your first point Mia.

That scene was so bad. I don't know if I would still watch the show if he was the lead of it when Rick dies.

I love expressing unpopular opinions. 1. Chandler Rigss is cringe worthy 2. I want to smash Daryl's motorcycle. Not just because it is pandering but because it is stupid in a ZA. 3. I could lose Abe, Rosita, and Eugene and not care a whit. 4. Jesus is weird. Kinda creepy with the hanging around Richonne's bedroom. 5. Denise and Tara boring. Tara falls in love too easily. 6. Michonne was ruined by being connected to the Grimes boys. 7. Rick is a terrible leader and not sexy at all. 8. Enid is a waste. Maybe if they had put her with Carol as a mother figure? 9. The only characters I really like are Carol, Daryl, Glenn, and some of the time Rick, Carl, and Michonne

I just don't get that Michonne and Rick were into each other when she came to the fence the first time. I hear people say they were giving each other the goo goo eyes. I thought she was trying to say help me or let me in without having to say anything. And I can't understand why so many people love Carl. He is such a boring character. Oh and I loved Dale.

I enjoyed season two and three you saw all the characters every ep apart from the one with Shane and Rick taking the kid away but you did see the others. Season six has to be the worst. I only like a few characters so heaps of stand alone eps are annoying. They never should have killed Merle Dixon.
I also liked Lori, Andrea, I wish we still had them and got rid of a few other watching paint dry characters.

I hated all the hook ups in season 7,they were all done for plot driven reasons not character based.
I like Rosita and Tara but I can admit that both actresses CS and AM aren't strong actresses. And if they were killed off I doubt their presence would be missed.
I want Carl killed or replaced.
The writing on this show is beyond bad, and they will never win anything until they fire the writing staff.
TWD has some of the biggest egos ever compared to other shows.
The look of the walkers is getting worse every season.

That is so awful considering they use to look so real.

I definitely agree with many of these. :-)
My unpopular opinions:
1) I loved the CDC. 2) I don't hate "Still". 3) I liked Jessie. (I wanted them to retool her for the TV show, not have Sam exist, not have Rick be interested in her, and instead give her interactions with other abuse victims: Daryl/Carol). 4) I loved Dale. 5) The Rick/Michonne couch make-out was gross and the worst way for them to get together. I don't mind them as a couple but that was just CW-level teenage drama writing. 6) I don't hate Tara's fist-bumps. 7) I don't hate Chandler's acting. 8) I think Maggie is (usually) boring.
Okay, going to crawl back into my cave now. :-)

And I think Sasha sucks as a character. I mean, we had to lose Bob and Tyreese but SASHA is still with us? Ugh, please. I think I only liked her with Tyreese.

The scene where Carol threatens porchdick was cringe worthy.
If Caryl happens Gimple will fuck it up worse than he did Richonne.

Most of my views on the show are not unpopular (especially around here) but I do have some:
1: I like Sasha. Hate the Abe/Sasha pairing but that is due to the crap way Abe broke up with Rosita. 2: I think people are too hard on Chandler's acting. He's a 16/17 year old kid and has improved a lot since the show started. 3: I really am not a fan of DD or NR. Haven't been since season 3. He has moments where I like him but over all, we could have lost Daryl and I would have been fine with it. 4: I am a shipper. (Caryl, Richonne, Gleggie, Aaric, Denise and Tara) Not one of the cray cray ones that looks for signs in ladybug patterns or that tries to turn every scene into something about my ships, but I am a shipper and honestly I feel attacked more because I am a shipper than because of my love for Carol. 5: the fandom has done more to ruin the show for me than the writers have. and that's saying something. 6: I am a comics fan and while I hate some of the changes the show has done when they bring in comic scenes, a few have been good. As a comic fan, I really really hate that they gave the bonds between Rick and Glenn/Ty/Abe to Daryl.

One of my least favourite characters on the show is Michonne, I find her beyond boring to watch.
I love Fr Gabriel and I think Rick was a complete dick to him in season 6a.
The Jessie and Anderson's story was a disaster from start to finsh.
I really liked the episode indifference.
The storm in the episode Them was shockingly bad.

I can barely stomach Rick anymore. I am not sure what it is that has turned me off so bad. It could be I am just not a big fan of Andy's anymore.
