Anyone else notice that in Sunday's episode, Jesus introduces himself as Paul Rovia instead of Monroe? Does he give them a false last name in the comics as well or did AMC change his name to avoid fans confusing him of being a relative of Deanna and Spencer?

I read it was to avoid confusion but I don't know if that was an informed report.

I'm betting just to avoid reusing an already used name, which Kirkman does in the comic several times as has the show. But Rovia as a fake name would be hilarious IMO as a plot for Jesus to further mess with Rick and Daryl.

Per Tom they changed the name to prevent confusion with deanna and her family. it wasn't an issue in the comics and shouldn't have been on the show but considering some of the viewers I can see why they changed it. As long as they call him Jesus I'm a ok LOL

Obviously, names are repeated in real life but I wonder why Kirkman decided to repeat names in the comic and even on the show. For example, why two Sams? We were introduced to one Sam in season 4, saw the same Sam again in season 5A, and was introduced to a new Sam in 6A.

Okay, so it was to avoid confusion. That seems a little silly to me, but whatever. I agree though, Ripley that it would be hilarious if he was messing with them!

Remember when fans went nuts thinking "it's Jesus time" when they saw "Monroe" carved a piece of the Alexandria wall. It turned out it was the first piece Reg Monroe constructed ... BTW: blackjackandcoke88 - been meaning to mention I giggle each time I see your Avatar

It's like Game of Thrones changing Asha to Yara so they people didn't mix her up with Osha. They think their audiences are so dumb, though in some cases they might be right.
I'm okay with it, they'll probably only call him Jesus anyways.
