Opens this weekend. I can't wait.
In 1630 New England, panic and despair envelops a farmer (Ralph Ineson), his wife (Kate Dickie) and four of their children when youngest son Samuel suddenly vanishes. The family blames Thomasin (Anya Taylor-Joy), the oldest daughter who was watching the boy at the time of his disappearance. With suspicion and paranoia mounting, twin siblings Mercy (Ellie Grainger) and Jonas (Lucas Dawson) suspect Thomasin of witchcraft, testing the clan's faith, loyalty and love to one another.

The reviews are very good for this film. This is but one I have read in the past couple days. Sexual Chocolate , (and anyone else who sees the film) please let me know what you think. Not sure if I can handle the horror in this one. Funny thing, I can read horror just fine but I have a hard time with the visual. (The Walking Dead is an exception LOL!). Give me Stephen King at the peak of his horror writings and I was in heaven. abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/witch-movie-review/story?id=37064836

I'm going to see this on Monday. I've been looking forward to it since it was at Sundance.

I did. I really enjoyed it! It was certainly very creepy, though I think it had a few pacing issues. Some might hate the ending though. I hope you like it!

dark sister I finally saw it and honestly I don't know what to think about it. I loved the performances and the look of it but it left me with more questions than answers. Maybe the problem I have is not so much with the film but with my expectations. I went in expecting it to be {Spoiler} a psychological drama created by superstition and not that there were actual witches and the devil.

I read a lot of reviews of this when it premiered at Sundance last year so I knew what to expect. I hope after you think about it a bit, you like it better.

I do like it better now that I've let it sink in. A lot better, actually. I went in expecting the typical jump scare horror film and instead got a smartly told story about Puritan life and belief. I'm glad I saw it and I would like to see it again.
