Excerpt
"...It did pop into my brain while watching last night that The Walking Dead original flavor had some such incidents (Herschel, Andrea, to name a couple), but even though they were each dealing with immediate family members and major emotional trauma, they at least had the sense to keep their zombified relatives at more than arm’s length. Nearly every episode so far, a Fear character has been — or almost been — overtaken because of his/her impossibly foolish disbelief at what their own eyes were seeing; I don’t know if it’s my mommy instinct or what, but if I’d seen one of the early walkers approaching, I’d be heading in the opposite direction. Quickly. Come on, people — you see a person apparently eating a dog, GTFO. You spy neighbors acting strangely and seemingly attacking each other — don’t let any family member out of your sight alone. Another neighbor does her best Frankenstein’s monster walk, reaching for you and growling through the fence, you shoot off her mothereffin’ head —thank you very much. You know there are such “people” roaming through the neighborhood; don’t go sit in your car — which is blocked into the driveway — with your windows down, essentially trapped, and a sitting duck. While by the end of “The Dog” Maddie started coming around, she spent most of the hour veering between some sort of awakening and deliberately obtuse. Don’t even get me started on “weak” Travis, the alterna-world’s would-be-Herschel."

I hated that they knocked Travis's ex-wife in the last episode. She and current girlfriend (Madison?) were a lot smarter than Travis. Despise doper Nick and his sister. Travis is some sort of hybrid between Dale and Hershel. Only characters I like are Madison and the Black guy (Strader?) They have survival skills. My favorite character was Tobias. (The kid who looted the school's food. He was the Morgan character. The one you wish would come back and straighten this group out.

I like Tobias Madison and Victor along with Daniel Salazar best. I liked Liza too. The teen characters I don't find that interesting -the Chris-Alicia dress up in the house made me yawn a bit.
I was a bit startled that Travis got the first FTWD action figure; I like Cliff Curtis the actor, but it feels as though they are not sure how to position the Travis character. He sure learned huge lessons in the finale. Salazar knew these things already because of his background-loved his leading the mini-herd to the gates , something which took longer for characters on TWD to use to their advantage.

That Chris/Alicia dress up, breaking stuff episode made me want to turn the TV off. I have still can't get into either of those two characters. Chris gets on my nerves. I'm sick of them acting like Alicia is smarter than the average bear yet not smart enough to tell her what's going on and she can't seem to figure it out on her own either. But she's going to Berkeley (rolling eyes here).
I like Madison but her facial expressions never seem to match her reaction to things.
My favorites are Daniel, Strand and Nick.
Actually, if it hadn't been for the great finale episode 6 for the first season, I might not have kept my interest enough to be excited about Season 2.

Thought I might be one of the only viewers who don't find the teens charming or brilliant etc. lol.

I'm going to tune in for Season 2
I'm hoping the show gets better.
I do like the characters Daniel, Nick (interesting and devious) and Strand (mysterious - wondering what is the agenda?).
Maddie grew on me and Travis was good from the get go for me.
Man do I agree with the author. I'd be running as fast as I could if I saw that strange behavior from people. The principal, the dog incident, the neighbor growling.

I'm looking forward to season 2. Looks like it will be faster paced too. The characters get a little more walker-savvy, and therefore less annoying. Not a huge fan of the teens either but I do like Nick, I think he will be fun to watch. And we know who joins them from Flight 462 so that should be cool. Also, read an article on the possibility of Tobias rejoining the cast.

It looks like Nick has learned a thing or two about dealing with walkers. And Chris stepped up and put down that suffering guy from the plane. All of them looked pretty good fighting off the walkers on the beach. I hope that's the end of people wandering off alone wearing ear buds, or suddenly going for a swim without checking to see what's in the water, or exploring unsafe locations alone.

This episode in S2 (ep4) coming up on Sunday sounds like we're going to get some answers to questions some of us have been asking ourselves.
