deadline.com/2015/10/norman-reedus-biker-reality-series-ride-amc-the-walking-dead-1201597085/ AMC Orders Norman Reedus Biker Reality Series In Rare Unscripted Pickup
AMC has greenlit Ride With Norman Reedus (working title), a six-episode reality series starring actor Norman Reedus from thenetwork’s mega-hit The Walking Dead. The new show, in which biker-enthusiast Reedus explores local motorcycle culture in cities around the country, marks the first unscripted series order at AMC since the network a year ago pulled away from the genre to focus on its core scripted series, keeping only Comic Book Men and Talking Dead from their existing unscripted series. AMC executives had said they would remain opportunistic in the unscripted arena, which is what happened here with a show appealing to AMC’s core male audience and featuring one of the stars of the network’s biggest show.

I think he could actually film it if he wanted to - I bet AMC would schedule it around his TWD schedule.
"...Ride, which will premiere in 2016, showcases some of the best collectors, mechanics and motorcycle craftsmen around the country as well as different types of motorcycles including vintage, minis and cruisers. Each episode will begin in a different city where Reedus and his riding companion – a fellow actor, musician, friend, or local chopper fanatic who shares his passion for motorcycles – will stop at various locales such as custom bike shops, tattoo parlors, collector’s warehouses, or a roadside smokehouse...."
Norman Reedus came up to my area- he was fifteen miles away from my home during part of his time off one weekend. He did exactly that- filmed the pilot while checking out local restaurants, bike shops, ice cream shops, BBQ joints etc. Lol, I tried to get my camera but I did track his progress through the area and still have all the photos, which I should post here

The format of "Ride" is described along with the production process and how different bikes will be used to match the terrain of each episode. Reedus says the very first guest is " a big one" about whom he is very excited. No premiere date yet. link

Interview: Norman Reedus embraces the motorcycle on new Bravo show ‘The Ride’ (‘I’m scared of horses!’) " AMC’s Joel Stillerman, who runs original programming and development for the network, was trying to think up ways to leverage “The Walking Dead’s” most popular actor Norman Reedus. He pitched to Reedus an enticingly simple idea: travel the country on a motorcycle. Reedus’ reaction? “I said, ‘Yes, yes, yes, yes, before you change your mind!’ ” said the 47-year-old actor, a motorcycle enthusiast since he was a teen. The result: six episodes of “The Ride With Norman Reedus,” debuting June 12 at 10 p.m. I spoke with him Friday by phone about the show itself, why he loves motorcycles and his feelings about “The Walking Dead” entering season seven this fall. In a way to to lighten the mood, he called me “Rodney on the Roq.” I had no idea what the reference was but he grew up in Los Angeles and that man is apparently a legendary DJ in town. (I’m a native New Yorker. My biggest Rodney reference as a child was Rodney Allen Ripley, a child star of the era.)..." radiotvtalk.blog.ajc.com/2016/06/06/interview-norman-reedus-embraces-the-motorcycle-on-new-bravo-show-the-ride-im-scared-of-horses/The bolded first sentence says it all.

The finale episode with Peter Fonda is now available fur viewing at ANC fur those interested: "...On the upcoming show, the two actors talk about their first meeting. "I first met Peter when I was in Los Angeles ages ago. He just happened to knock on my door because he was shooting a commercial out front," Reedus shared with Channel Guide, in an interview earlier this year. "I had an Easy Rider poster hanging up on my house and he knocks on my door. He says, 'Can I use your phone? I can't get reception up here.' I was like, 'Yeah, if you sign this poster.' That's how I first met him. Then later I did a movie with him, but he wrote on that poster. He wrote, 'Ride hard, or stay at home'. "That quote pretty much sums up Peter. I think that quote's designed for Peter and his life and you learn the truth behind that as you watch this episode unfold," the show's host added. Find out more about what the two actors discuss and which mean machines they try out in episode 6 of Ride with Norman Reedus which airs on Sunday, 17 July at 10/9c on AMC. Watch the show online of the network's official website..." link

Renewed for Season 2- no shocker there! It is ,after all, an AMC executive's vanity project with Norman Reedus. Thanks skhskh"...The cable network has renewed docuseries Ride With Norman Reedus for a second season. Like season one, the show's 2017 return will consist of six episodes. “The reaction to Ride has been incredibly positive. I am glad to be able to show audiences a different side of me and we have gotten a great response to the candid conversation and the fact that it’s obviously not scripted,” Reedus said. “I feel like we are just getting started and there are so many amazing places we have yet to go — the opportunities for the show are endless... ...The docuseries joins a slate of unscripted fare at AMC including Talking Dead, The American West, Geeking Out, Comic Book Men and The Walking Dead creator's Heroes and Villains: The History of Comic Books, among others”... link

And the corporate subsidized bro-fest continues.
Ah well. Reedus will never appeal to me personally but I have to admit as a time slot filler it does make good sense. It reminds people of TWD during hiatus and keeps their golden guy happy.
Though i have to say, I'd be way more into a limited series documenting Danai Gurira as she brought "eclipse" to the stage. Or an "American pickers" esque show with MMB scavenging the antique stores of the southern US.

I'll take a Steven Yeun one too. History of K-Pop? No?

good for him... I must have missed where the ratings were that good for the show or at least good enough for a renewal. Ripley I wouldn't be surprised if they did an ep with his biking buddies of twd, it would make a nice tie in to the show and folks would tune in for that. Meggo358 I would LOVE a 6 part series on DG bringing her play to life and/or Mel shopping for antiques.

I have to admit, I'd love to see eps with Steven Yeun and Melissa McBride. Good luck, have fun, and be safe!

I'm thinking key words/phrases will be "cheap", and "really cheap", plus "Norman Reedus guest star" As for Steven Yeun, he could have a show in which he just stands in front of the camera and rotates every 15 minutes and I'd be in (and let's be honest, it'd probably still be better than Ride)

Of course I was very happy to hear this the other day, but I feel like I'm probably the only one, and I'm okay with that. Honestly I really like everyone's ideas about the spin offs (especially the "American Pickers" one with MMB!) I would be excited about any show that gave us an opportunity to look into what our TWD actors like to do outside of the show and let us get to know them a little better personally. I know you all are aware of my feelings about NR, but I like "Ride" and any show similar to it because it shows what he likes to do outside of work (well, some of what he likes to do?! A lot of what he's really doing off camera you can only imagine?) Plus my husband rides motorcycles and I go with him sometimes, but not since he got his last bike! It's extremely fast and there's no backrest on it yet to keep me from flying off if he takes off so I'm waiting for that! He watches the show too. But I would watch a weekly reality show following Andrew Lincoln and his family around in England doing nothing in particular or Lauren Cohan doing her daily workouts and shopping for groceries just to get to know them a little better, you know? Hell, I think SY should be doing a "Steven Yeun get's married" special on TLC showing us all of the wedding planning laced with his amusing commentary on it as he goes along! How much fun would that be?!
