lmao. It was great! I want a scene like that on the show with some adjustments. Never gonna get it. I know. It was very true to the actual characters. Right amount of awkward, right amount of snark, right amount of humor. I would love to see it, too. I can't see Daryl actually agreeing to strip down. But I could be wrong.

Because she was making it funny and normal, so he might just say wtf, why not. Maybe. As I've said before, sometimes it's hard to imagine a character/someone do/say something you've never seen them do/say before until you see them do/say it and then you're like, "That was surprising but it didn't seem unnatural at all." Like with the Terminus hug aka Daryl's first on-screen hug. I heard even some Carylers had a hard time imagining DARYL run towards someone. But we all saw it and it felt perfectly natural. So I'm not going to say that a scenario like in that fic is that impaulsible.

I love this fic and the last chapter is the type of quality content I would love to see on the show. Instead we get McGimple and the fast food version of storytelling.

I'm thankful we have so many amazing fic writers in the Caryl fandom.

AlienSoul I created a thread the other day asking how long TWD (tv) could go without any major conflict and still be considered good, interesting, and even exciting. And Carol and Daryl skinning possums is exactly what I'm talking about. Just imagine if that made it to tv. I'm putting this behind a spoiler for those who haven't read the story/chapter. {Spoiler} It show us how they survive. Daryl teaching Carol. Gives us a peek into Daryl's childhood. That a soft touch from his father predicted violence to come. Tells us that Daryl watches the other men to see how they behave with women and each other. How the only time Ed showed "affection" in public is when other men paid her attention. The sweet awkwardness of Caryl walking together like "hormone-drunk teenagers" The frequency of Glaggie's make out sessions and what Carol and Daryl think about them. So much went on in that one chapter, and no one can convince me something of similar quality can't and shouldn't be transferred to screen. This is true character development.

Sexual Chocolate , I couldn't agree more with everything you said. And I read that thread of yours and that's exactly the kind of scenes that I've been missing from the show for I don't know how long. I've always loved horror but only when the story is character-driven. I fell in love with TWD because it had that once. Not so much anymore. :/ It's like TPTB think that taking a moment to check in on Carl or Daryl or Carol and getting into their psyche when the intention isn't simply to move the main plot forward is filler, a waste of screentime. I've been rewatching bits from the first couple of seasons and it's amazing how just about every scene is so well-written and character-driven that I rarely want to skip ahead even when I only start en episode with the intention of rewatching a certain scene (coughUsuallyCarylcough). The dialogue seems to be from a different universe and I really do think of Seasons 1-3 and Seasons 4-now as two separate universes. On-topic: I've been waiting for Silversundown to update her A Sixth Sense fic for two days now. I'm feeling so impatient. At least I got my "Groove" fix, even though it only made me want more.

The tabs up at the top of my little tablet screen are now all Caryl fan fiction. I have The Long Way Home (read before, reading again) Man Of Honor Woman Of Worth (loved it!), How Carol Got Her Groove Back (loving it!), Sixth Sense (read just enough to know I'll love it, can't wait!) I love reading about season 2/3, and love realistic ones with humor and concern. I wish these writers wrote for the show....

Stopped to read Slow Burn ( thought it was shorter than it is), and it's very well done but I do have one problem with some fan fictions. Please stop having Carol giggle. Carol doesn't giggle. She smirks, she laughs, she probably snort laughs, but she doesn't giggle. She's not 12.

Another great one by Trogdor19. Reading this right now. *screams internally* It's for the ninelives challenge "Fix it": Carol saves Daryl at the Saviors' compound, being a Queen and kicking ass! Also full of wonderful raw, beautiful, emotional moments. She could write my study notes and I'd actually read them. *goes to finish the fic*

I've just discovered a very talented writer that I am excited about. Her user name is Geektaire. I've just finished reading Nothing Else Matters and I highly recommend it.

It's supposed to be raining all weekend. I predict I will be reading fan fictions, drink coffee and wine and watch Netflix. There are worst ways to spend weekends, right? Rain is not such a bad thing after all.

For some reason, a story escaped me last summer. I usually don't miss any. So now I'm reading a long multi-chapter story (89 chapters of Caryl goodness! Yay!) titled Playing House, from ICanStopAnytime. It's sooooooo good and funny! I absolutely love it.
